Dr. Katz and Emily(hope that's the correct spelling!) are AWESOME! Emily has such a kindness in her voice makes you feel comfortable right off the bat. Theres a Keurig and water cooler available for you to use if your thirty while you wait but i never have taken advantage of either because the wait time has never warranted me using them. The way Dr. Katz handles her visits I really appreciate and I'll tell you why. Get ready it's a bit lengthy...lol
You go in to your room, which has always been very clean and bright inside, points for that, and wait no more than 5-10 minutes. Shortly thereafter Dr. Katz walks in with a warm greeting and gets right down to business, no time wasted. Which anyone whom values their time and money can and will really appreciate! She does the exam and then goes over her suggested gameplan with you and your kitties. What's more is she puts all of what she is suggesting on a laptop with prices! Which is awesome for someone who is a cheap bastard like myself and has to review every dollar I'm spending lol But don't get me wrong, as Dr. Katz can attest to, I'll spare no reasonable expense to get my lions healthy. After that if you have any questions about what she's suggesting (I ALWAYS have a bunch because my cats are like my children) she takes the time to answer ALL of them and NEVER has made me feel rushed.
Afterwards you follow up with Emily who again is always bright and smiling! She hooks you up with another appointment. On your way out kitties get a little toy to bring home! I LOVE THAT! lol it's bribery 101. Nice psychological trick that I never feel guilty partaking. With a toy the customer feels good because they receive something for free and the kitties begin to hopefully associate their vet visit with a new toy. Brilliant! Well played!
Anyway I'm very happy with my experience thus far with Aristokatz Vet! I look forward to watching and keeping my boys, my lions lol healthy in their later years and can't think of a better place to see this through. Much love and many thanks from Papa Lion and his cub, Roofus and little Roofus!!
I know people. Not the traditional spelling of Roofus but my boys are special! FYI They expect you to...
Read moreI suggest you go directly to a surgeon or any other vet when your kitty breaks his leg!
My cat broke his hind leg in December 2023. The doctor asked us to put on a new splint and take an X-ray every week, which costs approximately $400 every week. We did it for three weeks, but my cat still seemed very painful (I realized that they did not give me pain medication after I moved to a big vet hospital).
The doctor said the leg was healing based on the X-rays, but it was not. I think my cat did not have a chance to stabilize it due to the weekly splint change.
Communication with this vet was very inefficient. Even during the emergency, the receptionist requested to transfer prior medication records (which is irrelevant to this situation - diarrhea med) from a vet I used to go in Korea even though I already sent it before. I urgently requested the records from the Korean vet clinic, which is in a different time zone. Finally, when the records arrived, they said they had to close the vet clinic soon, and I should return on another day or go to another emergency hospital. So frustrating!
By chance, I communicated with the vet doctor in Korea and showed him the X-rays, and he advised me to go to another vet hospital immediately before it’s too late.
We decided to move to a vet hospital in Norwalk, which has a surgeon. The vet doctor at Norwalk said it was too late to get the surgery, so I had to put him in another splint for six more weeks. At this time, there was no weekly splint change.
In summary, I spent extra time and money delaying proper treatment for my cat. I could not imagine how my cat was painful for the first three weeks and splint chances without any pain...
Read moreThis review has been a long time coming. Too long. Dr. Katz has cared/is caring for several of our cats. Yes, she once came in to the office on a National Holiday because she was worried that she had missed something. Her diagnostic and assessment skills are beyond excellent, and she never stops thinking about all the permutations that might be causing certain symptoms. Once, she caught a cancer return two months before the oncologist did. She thinks, and she listens, she looks at the data, thinks again and suggests a new approach. We've been to other vets in town, and presumably they all have the same body of professional knowledge, but it is this ability to "live between the lines", and communicate WITH the owner rather than AT the owner that sets her apart. And clearly sets her apart. Dr. Katz has an ability to work with, and tease apart "I don't know" until a solution appears. We have several cats who are living way beyond their expected age, with a whole concoction of targeted food, meds and supplements.. I also want to mention the front desk and tech staff for their consummate professionalism, which has been there on a daily basis for years now. My wife and I are beyond grateful for how Dr. Katz practices her profession, and for the years she has added to our cats' lives. In fact, and this is a secret, I am in advanced negotiations to become the first human to have a vet as their primary care physician. Because I want to live as long as my cats are...
