A Huge Thank You to Amy B.!
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to Amy for the fantastic training sessions she has provided, both in the past and currently. Her expertise and deep knowledge of the subject have been invaluable in helping me understand and apply what I’ve learned. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude have made the experience enjoyable and engaging.
Amy has been my personal trainer for the past two years. During this time, I have greatly benefited from her skillfulness and her continuous pursuit of excellence in providing a comprehensive healthy lifestyle program. This program has supported my physical, emotional, and spiritual growth, perfectly meeting my personal needs. Amy is a dedicated trainer who constantly enhances her knowledge and applies her skills through effective fitness programs and clear communication.
One of Amy’s strengths is her ability to keep the workouts fresh and exciting. She consistently introduces new and varied techniques, using different types of fitness equipment and machines, ensuring the program never feels repetitive. With Amy, you get more than just a physical trainer; you get the complete package. When I injured my right shoulder’s rotator cuff a few years ago, Amy showed great compassion. She provided a fitness program that kept me active while ensuring I didn’t further injure myself. She also offered emotional and spiritual support during my recovery. Despite the pain and stiffness, Amy helped me regain strength and mobility through appropriate exercises and weights.
Amy motivates me during our sessions, pushing me to my limits while being incredibly helpful and clear when introducing new concepts. Her friendly nature and sense of humor make the sessions enjoyable, while her focus on my progress ensures I get the most out of each workout.
I can’t thank Amy enough for her dedication and support.
I can’t express enough gratitude to Amy for meeting me at my level and encouraging me to keep trying on my own. She utilizes the tools I already have at home, like my own body, simple weights, and resistance bands. There’s no need for fancy equipment, even with an injured shoulder. Thank you, Amy!
To everyone out there, regardless of age, let me put it this way: I’m old enough to be her mother, and if I can do these workouts, so can you. I highly recommend Amy B. of Fairfield as your personal trainer. She’s the fitness edge girl, and I’ll definitely be back for another tune-up! Staying fit is key....
Read moreSpeaking specifically for this club, I’m going to be as honest as possible. The hours of operation are great, but this gym has become too crowded for it’s own good. There just isn’t enough equipment to go around (the Edge Fitness in Derby is even worse), which leaves you waiting for a squat rack or a bench to open up after 10 minutes amongst the circus that goes on here. I’ve tried going various times throughout the day and the ideal time is towards 10PM, which became tiring and not everyone’s schedule is that flexible.
I’m agreeing with one of the other reviews mentioned, stating “members making comments during [your] rest periods” in addition to the occasional glares you get from other members while working with too little weight or too much weight, 435lbs isn’t going down lightly. Not to mention, the amount of times I have/nearly tripped around the (uneven) deadlift platforms and squat racks because people can’t be bothered to “follow equipment guideline” which is really enforced.
Pricing is good for the first year, which at the time of me registering, was $21.26/month. However, what isn’t mentioned, is that when the “annual club maintenance fee” of $49.99 comes around you must pay both that and your monthly membership fee ontop of it, but I guess that’s pretty self-explanatory. After your full year contract is up, the price increases to $26.58/month tallying up to $631.06 for 1 year and 8 months of memebership. If you’re unhappy with the price, you’re free to cancel your contract with minimal hassle, though the process is not handled through them, but abcfinancial.
Personally I suggest that you do not buy into needing a trainer, you can just find some really great YouTubers (not AthleanX), who have much more informative videos than they do. My recommendation is to find another gym, preferrably not a commercial gym. Finding a personal trainer that can help you program and not make a plan on the fly making you think you’re getting your money’s-worth, when you’re not just because you’re...
Read moreThe staff is seriously confrontational and hostile. They approach in an aggressive manner and then when you get upset they threaten to revoke ur membership. I had been a member for two years and went almost every day with my toddler. I had an issue with the child care manager who it was her first day and she confronted me and told me my son couldn't have his milk bottle after he had been drinking it their for two years. I said he would go to the infant room to drink it with the babies but she said bc he is 2 that he can't have it. This is not her choice to decide at what age. This is my choice as the parent. When I told her this she became hysterical and started to cry. I was then pulled of the treadmill by the GM Nick who berated me and yelled to get off the treadmill now!! we need to talk!!!! Your a problem!! You made her cry....I'm a problem? Honestly I have no idea why she cried but it's redicuulous that my child was treated so badly and that her crying as inappropriate as it was made Nick berate me and literally make me stand not in the office but escorted me to the middle of the staffed area and had another staffer stand over me hands crossed as if he were about to bounce me like at a night club. It was so unbelievable. If my husband were there that would have never happened bc no man would talk to a lady that way in front of another man. Nick is disrespectful and as the GM he should be more professional. Nick acted aggressively when nobody saw him at the treadmill. He's sneaky and he purposefully tried to humiliate me by confronting me in a specific area in front of his staff which was not inside an office or even by the treadmill Il never go back. Nobody cares about how your treated nobody said sorry nobody that works there that I have passed by for two years and smiled. Nobody cared that he treated me so badly. Not even the regional manager responded to my email to talk. I have it on video so I may...
