Gabe's — Local services in Fairview Heights

What kind of 1970's system does a store have that you can't return anything without a receipt. Can't even use the card that was purchased the item to look it up. I’m extremely disappointed with Gabe’s return policy and the way the black female store manager was unwilling to do anything but tell me if there isn't a receipt then the product can't be put back into inventory. If you don’t have a receipt or aren’t part of their rewards program, they won’t even offer a merchandise credit — even if the item is brand new with tags, which mine was. Most stores will at least give you store credit for unused items, but Gabe’s refuses to work with customers in any way. So this place is big but if you've been to the pottery place that was here before you already know that. It's definitely comparable in size to a Walmart. They have everything from hampers to hangers clothing fans and rugs. They have toys kitchen tools and seating. It's pretty much just like a t.j Maxx or a Marshalls on a pretty grand scale. As of right now they have tons of Christmas stuff so I do wonder when that's gone how much emptier the store will be. Come check it out and I'm sure there's something you're going to want because there are so many little knick knack types of things that every house needs. My very first experience shopping at Gabe's was their location actually across the river St. Charles, Missouri. I went to the soft opening on Friday at the new Fairview Heights store. I was very impressed with just how neatly this location is neatly organized, clean and employees are courteous and professional too. Old Time Pottery literally wasn't cutting it. They never really had enough business until the very end. I'm excited that Gabe's decided to open this location so much closer to home. I hope they will stick around for years.
