Went there Sunday Jan. 19th, 2025. My friend and I each tried on black body suits, leopard print skirts, leopard print shorts and gingerbread sweatshirts. We purchased the sweatshirts and shorts and left the other items on a rack after trying them on. We were at a different store about an hour later when we were approached by two security guards, saying that we were accused of shoplifting and to go with them.
When we went back to the store, we were told that the employee only found one skirt and one body suit. We explained which rack we put them on and where, and after she searched our bags, I offered to go find where I put mine as mine were the ones missing.
Also adding this, because it is definitely important. The way she was talking to my friend, makes me think it may have been racially motivated. My friend is a POC. The way this girl was talking to her when we went back into the store, compared to how she was talking to me, was cause for concern. When she told us where the ones that she found were and my friend said that those would have been hers, the girl turned back to me, and told me that she wasn't worried about it anymore.
I decided to look for them anyway because I wasn't going to leave without getting it sorted out that we didn't steal. I took a few steps around the counter before seeing the rack I hung them on, and there they were, in plain sight.
They were obvious as they were in the middle of a rack of black and white sweatshirts, and again, it was a leopard print skirt, and the body suit was right next to it.
I turned around as soon as I saw them, looked at the employee, pointed at them and said "there they are". To which she replied, "oh, have a good day." And went about her business. She didn't apologize.
I won't ever go back, and neither will my friend.
It didn't seem as though she had checked to see if anyone else had picked them up and were trying them on, just accused the last people she had seen them with.
It was irritating enough that she didn't seem to have really looked for them before accusing us of stealing, and for not apologizing for making an accusation like that, but also treating someone like that, is just rude, and she should be reprimanded.
I wish someone had decided to look at the security camera either before finding us, or while we were being escorted.
I don't know the name of the employee, but she had blonde hair. Whoever you are, I hope you know that you should treat people more kindly and not blindly accuse them of stealing before actually looking for the merchandise. It's unprofessional...
Read moreWhen I first walked into this store I thought everything was very cute but it is so overly pricey, and not to mention that I found the stuff that I purchased on SHEIN. By the time me and my friend went to another store to security Guards approached us and said that we stole from the Drift store. The blonde haired worker named Sabina assumed that we stole after we put all the stuff back on the rack it was obvious that they didn’t check the cameras before calling security on us. Security said we’re good to go if we can find the items that we put on the rack. But I will never be back to the store because it’s overpriced and they sell some SHIEN stuff that they just overprice (not all but some things). The worker seemed racist, assuming that I stole when there was no evidence, I will never be back to the store ever...
