Not worth the entrance fee at all. Felt like we got duped. **After "response from the owner," I'd like to offer some specifics that led to our 1-star review: First, we planned to visit the event from Phoenix area and noticed the tickets were $7 a week before. When we decided to purchase the tickets the day before Oktoberfest, we noticed they had jacked up the price to $10. Then, when you check out they apply a $5 service fee (even at the gate). Once in the event, we found the same vendors who are at the free swap meet every weekend in Phoenix. There was expensive food and beer, but then not enough seating. The band was fun, but I've been to many free events with equal entertainment. Many sponsors of the event were advertised, but I could not figure out what they were sponsoring because you pay for everything inside the event? Sadly, event security is a necessity these days but the rules were equivalent to TSA. A mother in front of us had to dump out the liquid in her child's sippy cup before entering. Wow. What seemed like an opportunity to bring tourists to a fun event in Flagstaff ended up feeling more like a money grab by the organizers. Great concept -...
Read moreI have been at this event for 6 years as a vendor and can tell you that it is a blast. I have hundreds of people in my tent having a great time enjoying the food, beer, music and other vendors. Every year it is wonderful to be part of an event that gets family, friends and community together to have fun in the park. Of course, no one can control Mother Nature, but this year was beautiful weather until a few showers for a couple of hours. That did not stop people from having a great time all the way into the night. Not sure why some reviews mention not much of a Oktoberfest- they must not been there when the contests where going : Stein, Brats, etc. Yes, there was other music being played. But did you know that in Germany the top 3 types of music is pop, hip-hop and rock. So besides the typical Oktoberfest beer music they do listen to other music during their festival. Overall, this festival had everything going for it and every year people enjoy...
Read moreIf I could give this zero stars I would. This is NOT an Oktoberfest. This is more like a food and goods festival from vendors. No authentic German beer, no authentic German pretzels, and no authentic German food and no GERMAN FOLK MUSIC. VERY disappointed and I will not be back. It was nice for the kids, and it's nice for a family outing, but to call it an Oktoberfest is a slap in the face. I wouldn't even call it a fall festival. It's just something nice to go to for socialization. If you want an Oktoberfest, go to Edelweiss in Phoenix or Haus Murphy. If you just want to get away and enjoy good weather, then this is the place you go. I hope this Flagstaff "Oktoberfest" changes the name to something else like "All American Festival", or makes this really like an Oktoberfest because it is misleading for those of us that know what an Oktoberfest really is...
