Flagstaff City Hall — Local services in Flagstaff

I was trying to set up meeting with the Flagstaff Mayor, Becky Daggett, or her office on behalf of local resident, a civil air patrol pilot (female immigrant originally from India) to thank her for serving our community and write a letter of recommendation for Satya’s citizenship. I am originally from Poland and volunteered and run several art galleries and businesses in Flagstaff since 2008. I have met Miss Becky before she was a Mayer and was happy to vote for her. We went to the meetings while donating thousands of dollars to Flagstaff city improvements/ we paid for Christmas lights that ended up being placed on 4th st instead of downtown, and other initiatives over time, because we love our community and do many things for others. I had a letter of recommendation written by the mayor at the time for me and my Olympic runner cousin, Anna , and it benefited our cases significantly. Miss Daggetts assistant Jessica Matias called me today and informed me that Miss Daggett would ONLY set up an appointment and write such letter if we were family or immediate friends with her!! We were all shocked how elitist this person was. I thought it is far from the truth to hear that the Mayor we all voted for only recommends her family and friends and omits upstanding citizens who are applying to serve our country in the US Air Force. I would like to hear it from the mayor herself because I can’t believe this nepotism is even possible. I recorded this conversation. What is the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives, friends, or associates?? To me it is unfortunately Nepotism and please correct am I wrong here to ask someone I’ve met a hundred times and voted for to help an upstanding individual who is the only female immigrant working with local Air Patrol?

This council made an ordinance that damaged my business with cavalier disregard for the consequences and process.

They produced the ordinance on the advice of just a single interested group one week before the vote. At the vote they responded to our request for a stakeholders input with a lie that we'd had plenty of opportunity to give feedback, then assured us that there would be the ability to make amendments to the ordinance after it passed. So of course at the next meeting they then told us that it was finished and there was no chance to consider any amendments.

Jessica Matias has made it impossible for the Flagstaff community to reach the City Mayor. She's stated on the phone "I am I charge of all the mayors meetings". I have lived in Flagstaff for over 10 years, my family has lived here for over 30. This is exactly why liberal women do not belong in politics. I have never asked for a favor, but I ask for one thing, to meet a person of much higher character and value then the nepotistic politicians in Flagstaff City Hall.
