If you’re looking for a jewelry shopping experience that feels less like a transaction and more like a fun outing with a trusted friend, Jacob Fricke is your guy! My husband and I had a horrific experience at the Rockingham location (check out my review for the tea), so we decided to drive an hour and a half to the Florence, SC store—and let me tell you, it was worth every mile.
The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Jacob with the warmest smile and a down-to-earth vibe that instantly put us at ease. My husband was buying his first pair of earring studs, so we naturally had a ton of questions. Jacob was incredibly patient, explaining the differences between lab and natural diamonds, giving us style recommendations, and even letting us know about a promotional sale we didn’t hear a peep about at the other location—even when we asked!
My husband also needed his ears pierced, and Jacob directed us to an adorable young lady named TJ at a nearby kiosk. Jacob didn’t just send us on our way; he got excited about the whole process, even walking over to the kiosk with us. When TJ was piercing my husband’s ears, Jacob shouted, “Has he done it yet?!” with the same energy as a hyped-up friend cheering you on. When the piercing was done, he stood there like a proud buddy, laughing and saying, “Oh, that looks GOOD!” I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much while shopping for jewelry.
Jacob’s enthusiasm and genuine care made my husband feel confident and comfortable, and that meant the world to me. This wasn’t just a shopping trip—it was an experience we’ll always remember.
From now on, we’re making the drive to Florence for all our jewelry needs because Jacob is truly a gem. If you’re lucky enough to have him help you, you’ll walk away smiling, laughing, and feeling like you just made a new friend. Thank you, Jacob, for turning what could’ve been a stressful day into such a...
Read moreI received an Opal ring for my birthday back in October which is part of the Le Vian collection. It needed to be sized, I took it in the week after Thanksgiving because I wanted to “show it off” during both holidays. Well, little did we know, Le Vian’s “policy” is 6-8 weeks for sizing. My boyfriend was not told this when he bought the expensive ring. The sales clerk wrote down a 4 when in actuality it should have been larger. So back to LeVian it went. Again, it is supposed to take another 6-8 weeks for it to come back. I just called to check on it, and was told it will be the first of February before it is “supposed to be in.” Then, he proceeded to tell me about Le Vian’a “wonderful” policy. (Ummm, no)! The ring is gorgeous, I absolutely love it. My point is, the Le Vian policy should be explained in full before items are bought; the sales “specialist” should be as nice about trying to get it back for us as he was selling it the day my boyfriend walked in to buy it. The service we have received has been a horrible experience with Kay’s over this ring; and it was NOT a cheap one, either. In my opinion, Kay’s AND Le Vian need to step it up. Buying a ring in October 2017 and still haven’t worn it a total month yet is totally unacceptable. So for now, I would never recommend either for a special occasion...
Read moreI came by today to see if I could get my wife's bracelet repaired, I was told no, they will not work on silver jewelry. That was OK. I continued to look around because I was also interested in getting a nice watch or possibly a rope, but I was ignored by the two sales people, who were people of color and I am white. Usually sales people at jewelry stores will hound you to death, but I guess my shorts, t shirt, and flip flops turned them off. Shortly after a young well dressed black lady came in and they both jumped all over her, eventually selling her a cheap charm for a bracelet. When they were finally done, I had been in the store about 15 minutes and the lady finally looks at me and asks if she can help me in as unenthusiastic a way as someone could. I told her no and walked out. I guess they didn't know I had about a grand worth of cash in my pocket and a paid off Kay card with a ten thousand dollar...
