Magnolia Wok — Restaurant in Florence

I drove from Atlanta to try this place. 🫶🏽 I will DEFINITELY be back and it’s REAL chicken!

Parking: This place is located in Magnolia Mall. There is a part of the mall that says “Food Court” drive up and park and walk straight through the food court entrance.

Service: The service could be better. The cashier was not friendly there was no smile or “Thank you have a good day”. This place ONLY accepts cash and there are no visible signs that advise of this, luckily I read the reviews. You also do not receive a receipt either after you’ve paid for your food. There is an ATM machine in the parking lot of the mall as well as one not too far from the food court. After you pay then you stand in line again there are no signs so when I came there were many people who had never been before either they had just come to stand in line thinking they paid after they made the plate and many of them lost there spot in line when they paid and had to revert to the end of the line. -A ticketing system would work greatly at this restaurant. You place a sign that says “Pay Here Before You Order” and then you hand the customer the ticket. When their number is called they can walk up and get their plate I believe that would make the process simpler. 🤗

Food: It’s definitely REAL chicken and I respect that they are not substituting other animals and calling it chicken. This is very much real chicken and you can also see them in the back seasoning the chicken. The food was okay. I had 3 meats with rice: (Teriyaki Chicken was hands down the BEST!) (Sesame Chicken was good but I wish it had more sesame flavor and actual sesame seeds but it wasn’t bad) (Black Pepper Chicken was okay as well it did not have alot of sauce on it and was a tad bit dry.)

So I've seen this place all over my tiktok fyp for the past year but I live in Virginia. We found ourselves heading to Camden and sure enough the mall was right along our path. According to Google they opened at 10 am on Saturday, we arrived at 10:54 am but there was no food up set up yet they were working on filling the pans. They started taking orders at 11 and then it was probably 10-15 minutes later when people started receiving food. We were 3rd in line. They don't have any type of number system, they don't ask for a name, so you have to sit there and watch them fill orders and then step up to the counter when they make yours. The gentleman who was fufilling orders was going much slower compared to what we've seen on tiktok. So the line quickly grew and again you're just all over the place waiting. We got 2 sesame chicken with lo mein and 2 large drinks, our total was $30.80, they are cash only. Food was good, portions beyond generous. We ate at the mall, then I ate some a few hours later on the ride home, then ate some for breakfast the following morning, then I still had enough lo mein left for another meal and for my 2 toddlers to also have some. Only recommendation was I wish it was a bit more organized: considering most of the people who ordered while we were there were also not from the area it'd just be easier if ordering and pick up was more...

It's at the mall so the atmosphere depends on who's there. The service is fantastic. I gave the food itself a 4 star rating. Let's be honest. It's mall food in Florence SC. It's not going to be amazing but it isn't awful. People keep making trips out to try it because they give a huge portion & they see it on TikTok or Facebook & then get upset it's americanized Chinese food that isn't amazing. When you're broke & need something decent this place is a lifesaver. Would I drive out of my way hours to get it? Not for the flavor. Definitely out of restaurant loyalty though. I'm disabled so there are days I can't cook & when I was still fighting to get approved for disability I'd be so broke. Magnolia Wok saved me pain & from going hungry & it tasted good too. My favorite is the Bourbon Chicken & Fried Rice. Add some soy sauce to that & it's a great cheap meal that lasts days. This is not the it tastes so amazing this is the it will keep you from starving without tasting...
