Zoe's Chocolate Co - Frederick, MD — Local services in Frederick

I have been a loyal customer of Zoe’s Chocolates for 2 years now. Every time I’m in the area, I stop by to purchase at least a dozen chocolates (which are not cheap). Well today, 2/20/21 around 6pm, as soon as I walk in, the employee tells me they can only have 2 customers in the store at a time. It’s 29° outside, so I ask if I able to wait right inside the door... The lady refuses to let me stay inside the door and tells me to go outside. I told her I will buy from somewhere else. She then responds and says “Ok, Byeeeeeee!” Emphasis on the “e” because she held the “e” for that long and replied with the biggest attitude. I understand social distancing but the maximum occupancy of that building is NOT 3 people. Even if it’s suppose to operate at 50% capacity, you’re telling me only 1 worker and 2 customers can “safely” be inside the store? What happens if there’s a group of 3.. are you going to demand that 1 person to wait outside in the cold?

What happened Zoe’s Chocolate? I had so much respect for your business but that all went down the drain today. No one deserves to be treated that way. That’s how you lose customers.

I will never be returning to buy from this company unless their customer service improves. Some might say this sounds dramatic, but the amount of disrespect and entitlement coming from the employee ruined it for me.

Please Note: Zoe’s Chocolate in Frederick is a long building. They only have one counter in the back left corner. The rest of the area is open space with AT LEAST 12-18 feet of space between the door and the counter. The counter itself has glass cases for the chocolates and there’s clear wall protection sheets to further prevent the spread of covid. Everyone was wearing masks so I don’t understand how waiting inside by the front door would have...

I cannot possibly recommend this place, their staff, and chocolates enough. I'm a dark chocolate lover, and their ganaches are OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD. Honestly, just do yourself and your taste buds a favor and go.

My friend and I found our way into Zoe's on a hot summer day. Deciding spur of the moment to buy some ganaches, we ended up eating them almost on the spot before buying a 2nd round to go. Walked in and it smelled soooo good and most importantly it didn’t smell like burnt sugar. I knew I stepped into a chocolatiers paradise. While trying to resist buying everything, I got their rose & pistachio white chocolate bar, a mini crunchy toffee milk chocolate bar, and a jar of milk chocolate nonpareils.

Their chocolate is smooth and rich. The flavors perfectly balanced, simply devine. Staff and service was very friendly and patient. The prices were reasonable and they offer discounted bars (just as delicious but...
