I’ve waited 5 days to decide to write this review. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve taken in about 10 pieces of jewelry to be repaired, restrung, resized, cleaned, etc. Two sets of pearls restrung, multiple rings resized or repaired, earrings repaired, tightening of prongs, cleaning, etc. resulting in about $1200 in costs. I also took several pieces of gold jewelry to be sorted by karat and examined to be sold. When I got the offer for the gold it seemed like it could be a very low offer so I had my son pick up the pieces and bring them home. I still had 2 rings to pick up from that point and when I nice MAN called and said they were ready I went to pick them up. I was greeted warmly by Irena (one of the nicest people you will ever meet). Roluca Cohen (the mgr. who had helped me with all of it originally and who gave me the gold offer) was there helping another customer. As Irena was checking me out, my balance was $100, Roluca pipes up, in the middle of helping her customer, and says, “she has a balance!” Irena looked at her a little shocked and back at me. She seemed embarrassed by what Roluca said. She said, “we have it handled, she is paying/or she has paid” I just held up my hands in a shrug. I guess Roluca saw this because she said, “I had it up on my screen because I’m the one that called her to tell her they were ready”. She was not. There was some other reason she was being a jerk and checking my business instead of handling her customer. As I said, a man called me to tell me the rings were ready. It was insulting. Did she think I was going to abscond with my rings without paying the $100 balance? It certainly sounded like she was concerned. I had planned to have all my other gold rings sold and the stones made into a specially designed ring but I will no longer do it there. I won’t patronize their store again. All these positive reviews about how nice “Bob” is with which to work? I never saw a Bob. Maybe he was a previous owner. I’m unsure. I don’t know what Roluca’s issue was but what started as a positive experience a couple of weeks ago ended so negative. As my family says, I’m too trusting in the sincerity of some people. This was probably one of those times.

Read moreI see all the positive reviews about this place but my interactions with them have been incredibly negative. The staff that I have dealt with has had lots of ego and they are always on the defense. One of the incidents, I called inquiring about getting some pieces appraised. A man answered and advised I would need to leave my jewelry with them for about a week as they have a guy that comes by randomly and not during working hours. I asked if I could make an appt and he said no. I advised I had a few pieces and it sounds kind of sketchy. Regardless of any reviews, I'm not familiar with this place and I'm not going to do something outside my comfort zone with very sentimental pieces to me. He said some people bring in 12 (in comparison to my 3) making me feel devalued as a customer. He then said there's nothing sketchy about it completely unsympathetic and seemingly very defensive. How about making me feel comfortable in the process and addressing my concerns?? Terrible customer service and I certainly don't trust them with any of my jewelry. They have always had an extensive selection of fine jewelry that is beautifully styled and reasonably priced. The sales associates have in every instance been very knowledgeable about each and every piece of jewelry in the stores collection .... and importantly they have in every instance directed their presentations to our questions and concerns. They have never tried to rush or pressure us into making a hurried decision.
We have been particularly impressed with Debbie Koenig . She is beyond doubt one of the most professional sales associate we have ever met. On a scale of 1 - 5 Debbie is an 10.
