I recently purchased a ring and when I got home and took the tag off of it, the ring fell apart. It was a puzzle ring and I was unaware that it was a puzzle when I purchased it. I spoke with the woman who sold it to me the next time I visited Gettysburg and she was very nice and told me to bring it in and she’d gladly exchange it for something else since it was impossible to put back together. I took the ring back and was immediately dismissed by the owner as she stated it wasn’t one of their rings. I walked to the ring display and showed her at least 5 of the exact same rings. I didn’t have my receipt with me since the other salesperson told me it would be no problem exchanging it and that if she wasn’t there when I brought it back to just let whoever was working know that she said I could exchange it. I was told by the owner that she no longer worked there, but she would go upstairs and look for my receipt. After waiting 45 minutes, she returned and told me she couldn’t find the receipt and there was nothing I could do. I was wearing 5 rings from the store at the time. I’ve purchased a lot of jewelry at the store and will never return. I wasn’t looking for a refund and would have gladly accepted another ring even if the price was lower than the one I was trying to return. It’s bad business to treat a customer who has spent a lot of money in their store. I wasted 45 minutes standing in the store waiting for the owner to return from looking for the receipt and she didn’t offer any kindness at all to a very loyal customer.
