OMG, Mitzi is my hair angel!!! Finally, I received the amazing cut I have been looking for! This was my first time and the salon is super adorable and very reasonably priced. The receptionist could be a little warmer and welcoming but....I will make this a short version of the story. My name is Heather. I am a former hairstylist of 13 yrs and haven't been in the business for quite some time. I have been looking for a stylist who can give a great cut(no matter the price) for several yrs. I have paid bottom to top dollar for a cut in hopes that I get what I am looking for. There is a particular cut for the texture of my hair that makes it fall perfectly into place when wearing my hair natural. It used to be the old school shag but now they are calling it a butterfly cut, but same thing basically. When that cut is done right, my hair does exactly what I need it to do. Well, I have spent yrs getting one bad haircut after another. Even from salon owners...I was so traumatized and had given up and went without for almost 2 yrs. Then a precious patient, Amber, came into The Joint Chiropractic where I work and I found out that she teaches hair at a local high school so I knew if anyone knew who could give me that cut, it would be her. She recommended Mitzi(who happens to be her mom) and I called and scheduled that day. I have finally found my stylist!! Mitzi's haircut is perfection! Everyone needs to go check Mitzi's place out! Purchased 2 Groupons for men's haircuts. Called on 1/18, told the young lady that I had the 2 groupons for the haircuts & made appointments for my son, father and husband for 1/19. When I made the appointments, I informed her that the 3rd person would not have a Groupon and verified that the price of a man's haircut was $19.00. When we went to our appointments, we were informed that the business did not work with Groupon. When we showed her proof of the Valid Groupon for the salon, she begrudgingly honored it but her welcoming attitude changed drastically. When I went to pay for the third haircut, I was charged $23.00. When I got home, I verified that Mitzi's website lists their charge for a men's haircut at $19.00. I called the salon and explained that I'd been overcharged. I was told that their website was wrong and that they would not honor their website pricing. The reason this even got 2 stars is because the lady that did my hair was very nice during the service and I do still have hair. My issue is I was told by the owner and the stylist they felt what I was asking for could be done. The first picture with the ombré is what I asked for as far as curl. What I got was the 2nd picture. I was told the reason for this by another stylist is because it didn’t finish processing and the wrong rods were used. When explaining this to the stylist the following day, she argued with me and repeatedly advised she did what I asked and said the reason it looked different is because it needed layers. She did put a layer in the back of my hair during the service and trimmed it (I did not ask for that). I declined her offer in fear it would look even worse. They were nice, however arguing with the customer when it’s obvious you messed up doesn’t sit well with me and I’ll never go back and advise others on my experience with this...
