T.J. Maxx — Local services in Guilford Township

Absolutely rude employees at checkout last Thursday afternoon (6/19/25), a group of older ladies (40s to 50s approx). Tried purchasing a blanket, said blanket had 2 different price tags on it, which I had no idea about. The cashier acted as though I had put on the lower cost price tag onto the blanket! Another cashier came over to help, and then started making jokes about the blanket I was purchasing!

Then the women up front started carrying on, saying stuff amongst each other such as "oh, someone must like Halloween! Haha. Summerween?! What is that? What TV show is that from? Do you know? Does anybody know? That is weird, but at least companies are making money off of people! Hahaha" then the one kept looking at me for my reaction with a snarky smile....

Then the cashier looked inside the tumbler I purchased, as if I were a thief trying to hide merchandise in it. These women were beyond NASTY to me, and the nerve they had to insult me for purchasing things their company sells, which are also popular items, was crazy. They made it seem like I was so strange for buying the products. It was awful how they treated me.

Your store needs to teach your employees to not openly mock a paying customer and to not make them feel like a thief for the stores...

I really like this store for finding something unique without spending a fortune. They sell some higher end purses for less than other places, and although I don't have any desire to own one of these, it's a great option for those who do.

Their selection of skin and beauty items is pretty good, and I've found things on occasion that I really like and didn't spend a lot on.

The store is small, and I find the clothing selection to be limited (especially the mens') Shoe selection is pretty decent, and I love the housewares section. Lots of great, unique items for your kitchen. There is also a little food sold here, like specialty spices, candies, teas, coffee, and the like. Always fun to look at that stuff.

Restrooms are kept clean and the entire store is usually clean. Staff is friendly and approachable.

UPDATE: September 2022 Still a great store! I've never had an unpleasant interaction with an employee. They've always been friendly and that's nice. Fitting room attendant was very nice on my last visit. Even asked how I made out with trying stuff on at my second trip in. Store is neat, tidy, and always well stocked with...

Was treated so rudely by the dressing room woman today. I’m a thicker girl In my Jean size and found a super cute pair of flair leg jeans and I accidentally hung them up as ones I didn’t want instead of taking them with me. I went back to find them and was treated with huffs and puffs and rude glares like I totally annoyed them by asking where they might have ended up. I searched the racks again and couldn’t find them and I saw a woman putting jeans away and wanted to see if she had the ones I had tried on but she literally tried to avoid me and walked away from me in the store. Every single time after that when I went to try things on the one girl gave me dagger eyes and huffed at me like I was an inconvenience to her. Never returning to this store again. Horrible customer service. I will say at the checkout Janine I think her name was apologized to me and said she’d be talking to her manager about it all. So thank you but all in all this was the most Upsetting experience I’ve ever had...
