I grew up going to ledo pizza practically monthly if not more, it's been a family favorite. Exciting for Chambersburg to have one now too! Now been open for a few months and things seem to be running great now. Wife and I stopped in for a quick dinner, got the cheesy garlic bread and a small Hawaiian pizza to share, took leftovers of both home. On a black Friday weekend Saturday we had plenty of seating ( booths and tables, indoor and outdoor) to choose from (while it is a smaller ledo than I'm used too, I was very surprised at just how much space they were able to make inside this building, can have many families and even a few groups inside, tons of parking in back and side lot, easy to get in/out with traffic light at entrance). Servers were all friendly, quick to get us cups of ice for our cold bottled teas, and plenty of plates. Food came out fast, I think my spouse had timed it for under 10 min if my memory serves me right. Bathrooms were clean. Food was delish, fresh, and hot (tho cold leftover Hawaiian is truly best haha). Great selection of food, from pizzas, wings, several salads, build your own pastas, desserts and more (I do miss the dirt cups from my childhood ledos, maybe one day I'll convince them to bring it back lol). They have jars of sauces for take-home and gifting (plus the super cute mini pizza boxes for gift cards, I give them to my dolls lol). This is an independent franchise owned location, not a corporate store, the owner is very friendly, and from what I've seen on their Facebook page they are active in giving back to their/our local community, already having done so since opening, and I've heard too of local places already doing successful...
Read moreLedos is a "niche" experience as a causal yet somewhat upscale preparation style! I ordered an 8.5" (all are square) my favorite pizza with pepperoni, green peppers, black olives, and pineapple. With a drink this came to $17 plus tax. The crust is a soft pizza dough, almost bread like, and the small 2" square slices I could not pick up because it was so tender it broke. Not a bad thing as it was delicious!
This is not your usual over-assertive pizza! Don't expect the usual pizzeria dough. It is fresh hand-made every two hours for freshness, and it showes in its delicate buttery flavor. Some will find it bland. The toppings were equally fresh, with the pepperoni a bit mild, but with a thicker slice that is not greasy nor crispy. Table service ordering for dine in. Counter ordering for take Out and phone order pickup. Table setting is plastic square plates and metal flatware and plastic cups. Service was excellent throughout. Nick the Regional Manager and I spoke. He acknowledged the chain is a niche, which is evident from the spread of the reviews. I enjoyed my meal and the food. This is the first time a 8" pizza filled me up! Prices are a bit higher than many chains, but the quality of the foodstuff is a notch up. Not everybody will appreciate Ledos, but I certainly will eat there again, though I will not abandon my usual pizza haunts for it. I'd save it for a modest date with a casual...
Read moreWe are fans of Ledos in a nostalgic way. It wasn't as good as what we have had in the past (think Pizza Wheel). We (two of us) ordered a side salad to split and it was a good size and of good quality. (The picture is after we ate some of it.) We ordered a medium pizza - all with extra cheese, half with sausage and half with onions. Honestly, we didn't need the extra cheese & I think it hurt the toppings to crust ratio. The pizza otherwise was good. There were Pepsi products, and no hot drinks (coffee/tea).
Service was excellent. The place was spacious and clean. The tables are not too close together. They had booths and tables. Two televisions on the wall. Parking was good. There were people picking up pizza to go while...
