I was very optimistic about visiting this new restaurant for breakfast that I haven't been to before but after going it was awful in terms of service and atmosphere. The server spilled a whole plate of drinks next to a table of customers and left the spillage there for half of an hour before we let the manager know there was a spill where she cleaned it with only a small towelette. Then, it took a long 15 minutes for the server to come to us just to get our drinks and another 20 minutes for us to even receive them. After this, it took about 10 minutes for the lady to get our order and a whole 20 minutes added on for us to get our food. I find this ridiculous because you shouldn't ever expect a customer to want to sit there and wait all that time just for their order to get requested or retrieved. On the side note, our waitress was wobbling side to side the whole time and either looked intoxicated on drugs or incapable of being a waitress where you must carry plates of food (including when she spilled a whole plate of drinks earlier). My mother has requested eggs that were not runny but upon receiving our food they were extremely runny and the potatoes were more greasy than an unwashed frying pan. I had ordered the sunrise platter where it comes with tater tots, small pieces of ham, cheese, eggs, and with a small order of sausage gravy. The tater tots were good and crispy, the pieces of ham were cooked well along with the eggs but that's hard to mess up. The problem I had was that it felt like presentation carried the whole meal. It was delivered all baked together with the eggs surrounded by the tater tots in a circle but upon eating it, it felt like something even Burger King could do a better job at. The biscuits that were with the sausage gravy was good but the gravy was not very good as I can say I've had way better at Hardee's which is very sad considering it's a diner. I had also ordered a couple pieces of raisin toast which were good but felt hard like it was placed in the kitchen for 10 minutes before being brought to me. As me and my mother we're done with our meal and cleaning up, FOR THE FIRST TIME our waitress checks on us and asks if we were okay and how the food was. Her customer service was awful and doesn't represent the establishment well imo at all. Atmosphere was not good at all either where all the TV's were turned off and there was nothing appealing about the whole place. I've been to the Main Street Diner in Waynesboro, PA and I highly recommend that restaurant for breakfast as they check up on you, and the food's quality much more represents the presentation unlike their restaurant, and the atmosphere is very nice that makes you appreciate how well it's made. I do NOT recommend visiting this diner and if you want a good breakfast experience then go to Main Street Diner in Waynesboro or McDonald's...
Read moreNever again will you find me in this restraunt to eat. Today was the worst experience ever, here goes. As a friend and I decided to have brunch at the Chambersburg Diner on 6-27-2017 @ 1pm, we requested to sit in the middle area ( booth) . A waitress name Laura had approached us asking to take our order for drinks first then came back to take our complete order. As I let Her know that I am hungry and need to eat so I hurried up and ordered a rodeo burger deluxe, mountain dew, and a cup of water with lemons. My friend I were having a conversation as we waited for our meals when we've witnessed whom we thought was a waitress pinch a bust boy on the butt near the restroom area as she walked pass. So at this point Laura our waitress was serving our order we began to eat when my friend requested mayo for her fish sandwich but no mayo served, another waitress had notice me trying to get Laura's attention and took it upon herself to service us with that situation. About 10 minutes into eating Laura approached and asked is everything okay we replied yes, cause at that point we were. Then she went to the back and got a broom with a dust pan and started to sweep all in the area where NOT JUST I WAS EATING BUT AN ELDERLY COUPLE AS WELL and simply didn't acknowledge that we as people (customer's) are still eating and you are seriously going to create dust all in this area? So I lost my appetite , then Laura comes with Bill and states if there's anything else you'd like just let me know. I asked to speak to a manager do to the entire situation. Assistant Jen comes to the table asks what's seems to be the problem? So I explained and all this manager can say I apologize ma'am but all I can do is take half off your bill since you ate half the meal. Omg! Was I heated at this point, a manager to not understand the situation as a customer I came in to eat an entire meal not half of a meal but do to lack of training I guess or maybe the waitress just didn't have common sense that as CUSTOMERS are eating YOU DO NOT SWEEP IN THAT AREA TILL IT IS CLEARED. As we checked out I stated to Jen the assistant manager that the waitress shouldn't be pinching the bust boy on the butt it is inappropriate as well as unprofessional. Mind you the person I was truly stating was the manager herself was the person we've witnessed pinched that bust boy on the butt. How crazy is that the she has the nerve to question me if I know deeanna whom is the MANAGER, SINCE I'VE TOLD HER THAT I COME THERE A LOT AND AM TRULY A REGULAR. BUT I BELIVE SHE...
Read moreJuly 2024 Update; This local diner has recently changed names, now called the Sunrise Diner, so we ventured in to give it a try. The interior was mostly the same, except the ceiling has been painted bright yellow, in keeping with the sunrise theme. A little cheesy feeling. Also some plastic flower arrangements added inside and out. Service was mediocre. We had several questions about some of the food due to allergies, and responses were not reassuring about what we were to expect, with some hesitancy on the server to find out the real answers instead of guessing. I ordered the quote "Belly buster" fried fish special which was about a $0.50 discount off the normal fried fish dinner. With a name like this, I was expecting a large portion as I have experienced in other restaurants using such names. However, when the fish came I was very disappointed. For $16, the belly buster fish was only a small 8"x3" piece and a small serving of fries. I even commented to the server that this was not a very big piece of fish for what the special name implied. No response. It was cooked well though. On the way out, the gentleman working the register, who I assumed was the new owner, did not even inquire as to how we enjoyed the meal. My answer would have been "not very much". I don't think we will be returning to this Diner.
12/2022 when was Chambersburg Diner: Our experience here yesterday was quite the opposite of prior visits. Ordered a cheesesteak quesadilla and was very disappointed. We asked what was in this when we ordered and were told cheese and steak. Carry out order and when we got home we found there was bacon in it which we don't like, there was very little cheese for a quesadilla, and the little pieces of steak were either full of fat or mostly burnt black. Very sparse amount of steak for the price. Definitely do not get this item from the menu. I would have been embarrassed to serve this product and call it a...
