MainStay Suites Chambersburg — Hotel in Guilford Township

The rooms were nice, luxury style. The service was okay but sometimes difficult to find. The gym was not open, which was disappointing. The laundry was not good. One washer was broken, another had a broken change slot that took the money and got stuck inside the slot and the machine did not register it. The third and last machine did not drain at the end of the cycle so my clothes were completely soaked and there was water still sitting in the washer. It took three high heat cycles to almost dry my clothes. Spent almost $15 to wash and dry one load and that includes the money I lost in the other machine. The breakfast was okay. Certain items were not refilled as the trip progressed and things kept running out and cereal was a bit stale. Perkins is just down the road and serves a great breakfast, which is where I ate on most days where I went on most days. The rooms were the main highlight of my stay but when you see the rooms it is a bit of a contradiction to the surrounding area, which is very unkempt. I would also recommend since it is extended stay for housekeeping to look into all cabinets and drawers once tenants check out. Being a Choice Privileges Member, I chose this Chambersburg location, using my rewards. I needed accommodations for a wedding celebration (two nights). That was my mistake!!!!Beware!!!! The pictures they post on their site, did not hold true at all. We had ONE hanger, we had NO toaster, NO hairdryer, NO tissues, NO coffee pot, NO mini bath items, NO wash basket. Our room lamp was on the counter, but the socket was covered by the furniture and could not be plugged in. The kitchen lights were on all the time. No slip resistant tub or hand rail either. A total disappointment, which I expressed to the front desk. I was told that NOT all the Mainstay Suites must meet the standards of the Corporate Locations. However, the pictures on the Chambersburg location, matched exactly to the Corporate pictures. Again, I showed them the pictures. Nothing, The staff did nothing, said nothing. No respect for customer satisfaction! Same issues in another room booked by another family member. I will never stay at another Mainstay Suite ever. Absolutely terrible! I was very disappointed with our two night stay. Additional family members also booked this hotel and had the same issues with their rooms. Upon entering the kitchen and into the room, our lamp on the counter was unplugged. (due to the outlet was half covered by the furniture and unable to use the plug) the room was dark. We had the kitchen lights on all the time. We were in town for a wedding reception. I had ONE hanger. We had No tissues, No coffee pot, No iron, No toaster, No mini bath essentials, and least of my worries... No wash basket. Seriously! I mentioned all this to the front staff. I was told that the Chambersburg location does not have to meet the standards of the Corporate Choice Hotels. I was dismissed, no concern, no apologies. I will NEVER stay at a Mainstay Suites again. My happy weekend of celebrations failed due to our stay at this hotel. Breakfast food was replenished whenever the front desk employee got around to it. No eggs or peanut butter for many one morning. The staff had plenty of time to replenish our room with all the missing items, but did not. The second floor ice machine was out of order also. Just an awful stay for us...
