Giving a 2 star not for the coffee but the attitude of the barista. I ordered a small Mocha and a medium Latte (repeated that I wanted a medium latte). I wait for five minutes and I see what looks like my order except the Latte is also small. I tell the guy serving that I ordered a medium latte - he says the order says small. This is when the girl who took my order joins the conversation. Instead of clarifying, she declares but I charged you for a small latte. Do you want me to upcharge you? I answer, I was very specific I wanted a medium latte. Once more, its the same - I charged you for a small latte, do you want me to upcharge? not once did she ask do you still want a bigger one or how can I make this right. All she is concerned about is what she "charged" me for and if she should "charge" me extra never once offering that she'll fix the problem. Acknowledging/Apologizing was not even a part of the conversation. This is not how you service your customers. Such a poor show of customer service. Should you be trying to fix the problem or only be concerned about whether I should pay extra? I was never impressed by customer service here but preferred to get my coffee and have my money go to a local coffee shop over Starbucks. But I guess I am going to actively avoid going here. I'd rather drive 5 minutes extra and go to Insomnia instead. Very disappointed - hope they have better customer service trainings for...
Read moreBelieve the reviews that say that the mochas are delicious here, they truly are. The only complaint I have which to be honest isn't a complaint, is the employees making me feel a little out of place. Now I WOULDN'T say they are rude, maybe a little dull but, from the many times that I've been there everytime I say "thank you" they never say anything back. I know it sounds weird to complain about but I'm not looking at it as a complaint because I enjoy coming here and will continue to come here but just want to give my perspective on something. I always go in with a good attitude and make sure to be kind to all people especially those working in customer service. My mind starts to wonder and there are many times when I can't give a $tip so it seems like if I don't tip I'm not given a "your welcome" or "have a nice day" I would hate to assume that this is the reason why. I know nobody is asking for this but I work and have always worked in food service and a good tip that a manager told me was "when working in a coffee shop, many times we are the first people our customers interact with. You are the start of their day. So make it count. How would you want your day to start?" Also this place has one of those too quiet for comfort feels so maybe a "hey welcome in" when someone comes in might make people feel invited. It's hard to convey a tone on a review but trust me this is just feedback not trying to pull...
Read moreThe place has potential for being a real hit. The coffee is really good, you can even buy the beans and have them roast them for you. The pastries are definitely well above average too. That is all I need in a coffee place, so I cannot say much of the salads or sandwiches. However, I cannot go above three stars for several reasons. First, a better job must be done to keep the tables neat and clean: There is really no good reason whatsoever why a customer should sit at a table that has been soiled by whoever sat there before. Second: It is really not that beneficial to have good bread and pastries, if most of the time you are alreday all out of the most popular ones at mid morning. The chocolate chip muffin is the best I've had in a long time. But its tray is empty, most times. Same thing for the cream cheese turnover or the blueberry muffin, or the plain bagel - we're not talking about "exotic" delicacies here: These are the most popular items, you want to make sure your customers find them all day long. I'd come in a lot more often, if I trusted they wouldn't disappoint me so often...
