Very satisfied with our private circle tour. Our guide Michael was very knowledgeable of the island as well as the history of the Hawaiian culture. He also took the time to ask the group if there was anything else we wanted to see or do. As a plus he even catered to my daughters request to see a turtle. During our lunch he even insisted on waiting for our food. His exact words where “your on vacation, I can bring the food to you. Enjoy this time away with no worries.” My father in-law was surprised that he actually picked us up at 5:45 am to take us straight to Pearl Harbor so when can start the day early as well as catch the sun rise on the Harbor. When he found out that my grandfather was stationed in Hawaii during WWII he also will to show us all the bases that he may have been at since I forgot which base it was. Michael was very accommodating. My group had a variety of age ranges. He even asked everyone to wait every time he parked so he may place a step to avoid the large gap from the van to the ground. I like how he would teach us about the ocean and how to spot the breaks and what to do if one gets pulled into the currrent. It was nice to know that he is also a certified lifeguard considering we where on an island surrounded by water. I don’t have anything negative to say about our experience. There’s is nothing but positive vibes that Michael showed us which in my eyes is the Aloha Experience. The island is about good vibes and we experienced that and more on this tour. Our guide Michael is a great ambassador for Hali’a Tours and I would 100% recommend them to all my friends and family.

My family had the pleasure of using Michael and Halia Tours twice when we stayed on Oahu. We have two kids ages 9 and 13, and they also had a blast. Michael was on time and was willing to take us anywhere we wanted and wait as long or as little as we needed at each place. He knows the island so well, and all the tips he shared helped us make good choices for what we wanted to do each day. One really great thing about Michael was that he was super flexible. Having kids, we often had to make plan changes on the fly and Michael had no problem with anything and was always super accomidating. I just can’t say enough good things about this guy. He knows so much about the locations and history of Hawaii that I came away learning so many cool things about the places we visited. His recommendations for food and shopping were spot on. Add to that he cares deeply about the environment, culture, and history of Hawaii, and my whole family was impressed. But perhaps my favorite thing about our two full days with Halia Tours was how much positive energy Michael communicated. He is the type of guy you want to be friends with. Finally, Michael was so good with making sure he spent equal time talking and staying aware of all of our needs. He was so good with our kids. They just loved him and still talk about him 3 weeks later. My 13 year old son kept asking me if we can stay in touch with Michael after we go home :o). We had one full day to enjoy the Island of Oahu on our way home from two weeks on Maui. I wanted to see Pearl Harbor, the USS Missouri and the Aviation Museum as well as any other Island sights we could fit in. The hotel concierge got us in contact with Michael at Halia Tours. What an amazing connection. Michael knows Oahu. He knows what you can accomplish in the time you have available. He doesn't push you - your time is dictated by what you want to do and for how long. His advice on when to do what and why was spot on. One member of our group could not walk that much and he pushed her in a wheelchair himself! When she wanted to go back to the hotel, he returned her safely, alerted us she had made it and then returned to complete the rest of the tour for the remaining three.

He is a wealth of knowledge. He is super friendly and understanding of individual needs and desires. Not once did he move us along faster than we wanted to go. I had some ideas of what I thought we should see and he offered some alternatives based on circumstances I was not aware of. (North Shore surfing primarily happens in the winter and we were there in mid July!).

His driving was safe and his pointing out of important sites was well received. We were very comfortable in his care and the other tour guides seemed to know who he was and this made us feel very comfortable. We never felt we had been taken for a ride. We had a great tour!
