So after our stay at the royal garden on Oahu I have to say I am no closer to a purchase decision. Mainly because unlike others, we begged for a presentation and a tour and we couldn't get one because, and I quote, "you booked the wrong way so we cant do anything for you."
I wanted to go to get the feel of the brand and even though we stayed in a studio I wanted to look at the multiple bedroom structure.
The studio was labeled with a kitchenette and said it had a hot plate. It did not. Just a microwave so we couldn't really cook. Room was nice and king bed was roomy and comfy. Closet space was good. Pool was small and some times full of kids diving and splashing. When booking we looked for things like a hot tub and it had said jet tub and hot tub. They had neither. Towels are guarded like gold as others have said. We had no hidden fees at check out. Loved that they gave you a second key card at check out to still use some areas of the resort while you waited for your shuttle. The lounge and zen garden are nice but as I said in a prior post if you are smokers (we are) I recommend a different place.
That being said I have no problem smoking out doors or in a designated area. It sucks that you cannot smoke outside on the balcony but you can smoke on the side walk right below it. (Please keep your smoking comments to yourself as this is referencing our experience for others and we dont need your opinion on rules, health habbits, ect)
When we arrived they told us the smoking area was outside of the valet parking area in a little hidden corner. There was an ash tray and 2 chairs. This was fine by us. We used this area all day and at 10 the chairs were removed. I asked if this was standard every night. Front desk told me no. Claimed the chairs would be put back and I went to bed. Got up the next day and they were still gone. (I have issues standing) they asked why I couldn't just sit on the side of the fountain next to the ash tray. I said I thought it may be an issue and front desk assured me it was fine.
All day did this and all that night. Next morning an angry valet attendant (mind you the ash tray a large standing one was there) told me I could not sit there nor smoke in the area as it was trashy and not allowed. I told him I was told to by the front desk and he called me a liar and said it was not a smoking area. I informed front desk and manager assured me that was the area so I told them they had better let the rude guy know. Manager was nice and she said she was sorry and would follow up with me. They called to my room 4 hours later saying they had removed all smoking areas from property and that I can smoke any where more than 20 feet away from the door but there would be no ash trays. Also fine I will go any where just make up your mind. Never another word, but chaos and rude to get to that point.
Concierge david and Josh working there were both awesome and friendly. We walked most places but found uber cheapest for all things.

The history of the land on which Club Wyndham Royal Garden stands is as captivating as the shimmering waters of Waikiki Beach. Centuries ago, this area was known as "Kuahauʻoli" and was a sacred place for Hawaiian royalty. It served as a gathering spot where aliʻi (chiefs) would convene to discuss matters of great importance. The land holds stories and legends that echo through time, infusing every inch with a sense of ancient wisdom and reverence.
Stepping into the resort, I was immediately greeted by the warmth of aloha spirit. The staff, embodying the true essence of Hawaiian hospitality, made me feel like a cherished guest from the moment of my arrival. The lobby, adorned with Hawaiian-inspired artwork and lush tropical greenery, set the tone for a truly immersive Hawaiian experience.
My accommodation at Club Wyndham Royal Garden was a sanctuary of comfort and style. The spacious suite, tastefully decorated with modern furnishings and soothing island-inspired accents, provided a serene retreat after a day of exploration. The fully equipped kitchenette allowed me to prepare my own meals, adding a touch of home away from home.
The resort's amenities were a delightful surprise. The swimming pool, surrounded by swaying palm trees and fragrant flowers, offered a refreshing oasis where I could unwind and soak up the Hawaiian sun. The fitness center, equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, ensured I could maintain my workout routine even while on vacation.
Beyond the resort's boundaries, Waikiki beckoned with its iconic beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich cultural heritage. I strolled along the renowned Kalakaua Avenue, indulging in world-class shopping, dining, and entertainment. The nearby attractions, such as Diamond Head Crater and the Honolulu Zoo, provided opportunities to connect with nature and learn more about the captivating history of the island.
Club Wyndham Royal Garden's commitment to sustainability and preserving the natural beauty of Hawaii resonated deeply with me. The resort actively participates in conservation efforts, emphasizing the importance of protecting the delicate ecosystems that make this paradise so unique.
In conclusion, Club Wyndham Royal Garden at Waikiki seamlessly blends the timeless allure of Hawaii's past with the modern comforts of a luxury resort. It is a testament to the beauty of this island and the remarkable history that shaped it. Whether you seek tranquility, adventure, or a deep connection with the vibrant Hawaiian culture, this resort will exceed your expectations and leave you with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Read moreThis hotel surprised me - in a great way. I wasn't sure what to expect when we booked this through our Wyndham timeshare, but from check in to check out, and everything in between, everyone and everything was top notch. The rooms we stayed in were updated, large, comfortable, and pleasantly decorated in a tasteful Hawaiian style. The rooms are equipped with everything you need for a short stay (microwave, coffee pot, mini fridge, dishes, etc) and the front desk is fully stocked with supplies in case you run out of the essentials. The lanai was perfect for morning coffee and evening beverages while enjoying views of the Ala Wai Canal to the east & partial ocean view to the west.||Valet/bellhop staff were attentive and friendly; they always opened the door for us & greeted us with a smile and kind words whenever we approached the building. Front desk staff was exceptional, especially Darwin. He was so friendly and went above and beyond for us, especially when a mistake was made and our requested room type was not provided at check in. We saw him almost every day of our stay, and he was exceptional every time. Each and every staff member I encountered offered a greeting & a smile, even in quick passings. ||The pool area was our favorite part, and we spent a few hours each morning alternating between the pool, sauna, and lawn with sunning chairs. The pool does have a pretty intense drop off between 3 - 6 feet, so definitely be aware of that as the pool tiles are slippery and hard to keep footing on. The pool temperature was perfect and the pool was always clean and usually empty of other people. There are plenty of lounge chairs and tables spread around the outdoor area, both in the sun & shade. The saunas were a cool, unexpected amenity and were also always clean and functional.||The one hiccup in our trip was that the wrong room type was given to my limited mobility father, and he was told that the room he booked was unavailable for our stay. He attempted to make a standard room work after being told all 6 ADA rooms were booked, but it ended up being too difficult and the next day requested to be moved. Darwin handled this for us and made the process so easy and stress free (our family hates complaining or challenging an error, even though it was warranted here) - he set to work having one prepared for us right away, and we relocated my father to the correct room within a couple of hours.||Seriously, shout out to Darwin & all of the other helpful, friendly staff for making this a stand-out vacation destination for us. The walkability of the hotel and surrounding area is also a major plus - we always felt safe & it was extremely easy to get to many of the main things we wanted to see during our visit. We're already contemplating our next booking...
