It pains me to write this review because I 1000 percent support and know how hard it is to run a small business. I would rather speak to the owner - and would have, if I could have found him there today. I hope he sees this and addresses his staff/team. I drove to Honolulu on my day off all the way from North shore specifically to eat at Byblos. I have eaten here before and the gentleman that has helped us has always been courteous and welcoming. Today was a scene from a movie. I had heard of this types of attitude, but to live it was mind-blowing. I looked all over for parking, excited to eat at Byblos. I walked up with my wife directly to the window where a young lady was sitting on her phone. We stood for a moment directly in front of her, and knew she would acknowledge us in just a moment. We are not demanding, un reasonable people, we can wait for a minute while she gets off the call. BUT she NEVER got off her call NOR DID SHE LOOK AT US. She kept looking off in the distance and kept talking on the phone. We stood there and stood there looking straight into her face and she never once aknowledged us. She refused to look at us. We looked at each other , and didn't know what to think, so we walked away to the next truck. Completely shocked and confused. She still didn't say a word or look in our direction. We were still in shock so we looked back and another young lady was now at the window next to the girl STILL on the phone. So we walked back and the new girl said can I help you? I said yes, are you open? She said yes. Then my wife asked, is she working? pointing at the girl STILL on a call and STILL not looking at us. Even when my wife pointed at her, her eyes never looked at us. The new girl said, yes she is working, and STILL the girl on the call did not look at us or stop talking on the phone. We just shook are head in disbelief and walked away. No way where we going to spend money with this business, much less eat food prepared by this staff. We walked away to other trucks and when we came back around to this trucks area, the girl was still on the call! If she was on an important call, why not sit away from the front window? Why not just say, one moment someone else will help you? Why not even put a finger up to tell us one moment? Anything?! She sat looking away into space, mumbling into the cell phone and her co worker did not ask her to drop the call or ask why she had not helped us. No, what the other girl did was also get on the phone, so now the 2 of them where on the cell while at work. Truly shocking and so disappointing. As a business person I would be upset! Is this what you are doing while the owner is away? Turning away and losing paying customers. I will not return and of course will share this amazing story to anyone who asks about this food truck. I truly hope the owner becomes...
Read moreOur dining experience at Byblos Express, a Lebanese cuisine food truck within the Food Truck Park, was an adventure into the flavors of the Middle East. We were drawn to this food truck primarily because it offered halal options, and we were not disappointed in that regard.
The standout feature of our meal was the quality of the meat dishes. Each dish showcased tender and flavorful meat that was cooked to perfection, a true testament to the culinary expertise behind the food truck. The commitment to providing halal options was greatly appreciated.
However, one minor drawback was the excessive amount of garlic sauce in the dishes. While we appreciate the traditional use of garlic sauce in Lebanese cuisine, it tended to overpower the flavors of the meat. A more balanced use of this delicious condiment would have enhanced the overall dining experience.
The environment at Byblos Express was authentically inviting. It felt as though we had been transported to a bustling street in the heart of Lebanon. The vibrant and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall enjoyment of our meal.
In conclusion, our visit to Byblos Express at the Food Truck Park was a culinary journey into Lebanese cuisine. The high-quality halal meat dishes and the authentic ambiance were highlights of our experience. While the garlic sauce was a bit overpowering, it did not detract significantly from our overall satisfaction. If you're seeking halal Lebanese cuisine in an authentic setting, Byblos Express is...
Read moreOk Hi 👋 everyone, After trying this place for time and I had the chance to taste all of their food and the service I can say that…. It is nice to have this type of food in Hawaii since there are few restaurants like it in the island. First the service is bad and they should work on that more and pay attention to the customers and how they treat them rather than seeing the customer as a walking wallet 🪪😄. Second the price and the discount, they don’t have any type of discount for locals at all and prices of the food are pretty ridiculous expensive and out of this world 🌎. I know everything is getting expensive such ingredients and rents but still the prices way to much and don’t make sense. Finally and most important thing the taste of the food, falafel is good and fresh, hummus is not that fresh every time and always on sour side, garlic 🧄 sauce is fresh and always good, shawarma is bad without any flavor or taste, kebab sandwiches are bad and not fresh at all and I am pretty sure they brought them from Costco and they just warm up the kebabs meat, fries 🍟 is ok but they need to change the oil often because sometimes u can taste the bad oil.
I think that all and hope they can work and improve...
