No one wants to admit race was involved. But it definitely was for me. Just be careful not to do it again now that the public knows. You're speaking on MY experience. So your replies are invalid & defensive. You gave the service, not received it. So I rated it. Just fix your service. That's all.
Also, this review would have never happened if you were apologetic. I would have even taken it down depending on kind customer service language in your reply. Your company's blame game is low. Have a good day.
Update due to Sojournās reply: I asked for 2nd cleaning since your technician rushed it AND I wanted my money's worth - it was expensive! I pay $30 - $35 for pedicures at Gloss Nail bar & other salons. Your cheapest pedi is $40. I paid for the middle option - $50. I should have proper cleaning a 2nd time with gentle & careful service, which sadly, I did not experience. Yelp reviews of Diana L and Chrisstie C also attest to cuts & rough service with you. 2 years later & here I am experiencing the same rough service. I should have read these reviews before visiting! And please don't assume I have an ingrown issue. I am adult enough to know that I do not.
Your words: "your heels were already smooth- you did not need the extensive callous remover tool" but then talks about video footage showing I got hot stones - this is not callous removal. You've contradicted & exposed yourself by admitting to me that I did not get the extensive callous removal which is what I was referring to. The extensive removal was included in the $50 package. Please give me what I paid for. Do not decide for me. Do not give the Caucasian customer next to me the extensive callous remover tool while I as a minority, African American customer am short changed.

I didn't even complain about the additional fees they failed to previously disclose would be added. That should have been my first red flag š©. This recent visit, I arrived early. The nail tech was beyond rude, didn't try to understand the request, didn't offer any water or tea (standard practice) and she was unnecessarily argumentative. Barking orders to pick a color, then switching in a matter of seconds to needing my hands, then realizing she couldn't start because I didn't tell her a color and could no longer see the options. All within a matter of a minute.
Before exiting, I was asked to explain the issue and that person also failed to comprehend the request before attempting to defend the tech. I repeated my request with clear examples of what I wanted and said it could absolutely be accomplished because it was a basic color powder. "OH! We can do that. That's easy." It was always easy, she simply refused to listen and do a baseline consultation and use basic manners. Between sneaking in additional charges to final costs and horrible attitudes, I feel sorry for the nail tech she's covering for. Being a hairdresser, I was grateful that I could make an appointment at a nail salon that I wanted to try because of the privacy and photos that I saw. I am looking for consistency and someone who greets me kindly owns my nails and helps me by telling me that My nails have special needs and I am going to take the extra time to do this because of whatās going on here and she did. Her name is Michelle! And she is the only one that does sculpted nails from what I understand. She truly did a beautiful job despite it being the end of the day. I did feel bad being the last appointment and I wouldnāt recommend it to anyone because you do feel the pressure to get out of there. I felt like I got the last table 3 minutes before the restaurant closed, but Michelle really took care of my nails and I will be returning to her and I did love the privacy.
