This review is coming from an incident that just happened. 9/2/24 approx. 2:20pm I witnessed a middle aged man filming a young girl/women from behind, following her every move. I went to confront the man, I think he realized that I had noticed him and he bolted toward the exit. I immediately went to the front desk with the young women and told the front desk employee what had happened. The employee informed me that although it was creepy -it was legal to film in a public place and that he is a former police officer so he knows the laws. The other young college student working had a smile on his face and seemed to be laughing about the situation.
Regardless of whether or not what happened was legal- I feel a more caring response would have been appreciated. Here's what the employee should have said - we will check the cameras and not allow him into the store in the future, as that behavior isn't allowed here. Instead- I was told what the law was and the employee made me feel stupid for sticking up for another women. The employee made what happened seem ok. I don't know the young girls age- what if she was under 18- does that change things?
I'm glad the employee is a former cop and not a current one as he didn't handle the situation very well.
To the owner: If you have cameras you can confirm the situation as well as the response I received.
Also- the antique store isn't great- mostly new...
Read moreWOW!!! I just can't say enough about this place. Hutch Vintage Market with its ease of access just off of K61 in the previous (JC Penney store) at the Mall. From the moment you first walk through the door you are greeted (hello) immediately by the friendly, professional staff. As I started my journey through the store my senses come alive with the immediate notice of the amazingly fresh clean, well lit organized and professional layout. Now hearing music from good times passed as I walk around looking for those treasures, there surely is something for everybody with the Huge variety of vendors! I do frequent the store often, and have had the opportunity to meet the store manager Heather. She is awesome, professional and busy with new vendors and customers along with her staff!!! They all make you feel right at home. Please do yourself a favor and check this place out. I have been to many antique malls all over the place & nothing compares to this place, they are in A League of Their Own!
