State board came into my place of work as they do when it is time to routine checks, I had taking the appropriate ce hours both laws, rules, and sanitation. For some reason my ce hours never transferred. Same with my fiancĂ©, we both took the appropriate ce hours and his did the same. So she came in yesterday and was nice enough to help me but even though both my fiancĂ© and I took our ce hours before the expired date she still charged a late fee cause I never paid the board on time. Which I feel like shouldnât be my fault. My documents show I took my test January 3rd, way before July. I tried to have her help me with his since he was not workingâŠshe said he had to be there. And said that she would charge him a fine if caught working. Which I understand and she gave me her direct number if I needed help. My fiancĂ© I tried to figure the situation before calling her. His account said he didnât not have any of his ce hours done which is a lie, I have screen shots of payment and tests that he has done. She still has yet to...
Read moreThey force us to take continuing education classes if you're under 65 years of age or have under 30 years of barbering experience, what a racket because the old timers have the dirtiest shops. I called and tried to become exempt from taking the courses because I identify as a 70 year old. Their lawyer Jared told me I had to jump through all these hoops, mqking it virtually impossible. As a 28 year old who identifies as a 70 year old I feel like they discriminate against us senior citizens. It sickens me to my core. I'm shook, literally shaking rn and have started seeing a therapist because the ohio state barber and cosmetology board has given me PTSD, they fail to identify me as I truly am. As a non binary genderfluid trans I am afraid to even go into their building, if they clearly won't allow me to be exempt from the course due to my age I fear they will address me with...
Read moreThe people there are extremely rude. It was a hassle to get my transfer license. They don't explain anything about the exam, despite the fact that you obviously learned different things in another state. Which as everyone knows, all board exams are different. When it was time to renew, they don't explain anything about that either. Now, I'm stuck paying all these late fees. And when you try to explain that it doesn't state anything about it, they hang up on you. Really professional. Obviously no ones cares over there. They just sit around doing just about nothing. If you have to deal with them, I feel sorry for you. I'm happy that this will be the last time I have to do this, as I moved to...
