January 28, 2022 I place an order on the app to be pick up inside the store.
walked in and my order was not ready. Thats ok i had a few minutes to spare.
was advised by the very nice lady at the register that it would be a bit longer than usual since they were prepping orders for a group of high school kids. Again not the store fault. As a result, they were not taking orders at the counter.
I waited and waited and almost walked away since I was already running late for a meeting as a result.
very nice lady at the counter checked and said “they are about done with the groups of kids order and yours is next.” At point there was at least 6 people in line waiting to order food.
They completed the group of kids orders. The register started taking orders and the people in the back started prepping my takeout online order. I saw that a young girl ( 17-18 yoa female white) completed my order and placed on a counter and yell something. I can only assumed she was yelling for the lady at the register to get my order and hang it to me. But she couldn’t because she was the only one taking orders and at this point 10+ were waiting. While the people in the back were just standing around (remember they stopped taking orders until they finish the larger group order).
i decided to walk towards the back counter and and told the young lady (female white) as i pointed at the brown bag with my name on it. Can you pass me my food i’ve been waiting a while. I said this calming. When a young heavy set female back suddenly said “ AND YOU CAN CONTINUE WAITING YOU DONT HAVE TO RUDE ABOUT.” As she grabbed the bag of food and literally threw it on the counter for me to take it. She must have thought that i was trying to be rude. I was not and my tone of voice was that of a calm individual. I was embarrassed for her and for the store. I understand that they had just finished a large order and were probably exhausted and stress out. But that does not justify this young lady talking to me in that manner.
worse part about this whole thing is that i call panera corporate office that day and spoke with rep who was very nice by the way. He was able to pulled up my order using my panera account. He stated that he elevated the complaint to the local store management and took my phone and email for them to reach out. Today is Feb 2, 2022 and i have not heard a word from them and i probably wont. So, i decided to write this so what happen to me does not happen to someone else. BEWARE OF PLACING ORDERS AHEAD OF TIME AT THIS LOCATION:
There is no doubt that Panera food is amazing. In my opinion it is their service that I question. A few months ago I placed an order a few days ahead of time for pick up. When I got there they had no order ready for me. It took a little while but someone finally found my order in their system. I waited for it and when I got home is was mostly correct with a few missing items. I was a little disappointed but as I said earlier...the food is amazing so I let that mistake go. HOWEVER,
On December 15th I placed an order to be picked up on Christmas Eve. I called on December 23rd to verify my order and was told it would be ready by noon on the 24th. My husband went to pick up the order, at 12:05, and the manager told my husband that they had run out of two of the items I had previously ordered. Really? I placed the order NINE days earlier. My husband was offered some items for substitution for my missing items but, unfortunately, he did not have his cell with him so he couldn't call me to see what I would like for the substitutions. The manager did not offer the business phone to my husband so he could call me thus my husband had to leave the store and drive back home to ask me the same. I phoned back and spoke with the manager to see what happened. I was told that a staff member had mistakenly given my order to someone else earlier that day and that said mistake was NOT his fault. OH REALLY...IF NOT YOU OR STAFF'S FAULT THEN WHOSE FAULT WAS IT? If it had not been Christmas Eve and if I had extra time to go to the store, purchase more food items as well as the time to prepare the same, I would have just cancelled my order. As it turned out I did make the substitutions and, as usual, the food was amazing. However, I will never again be placing an order with this location for a later date pick up. My advice to anyone who will be placing such an order...have a plan B in place...

I wanted a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with no tomato or lettuce (not the white bread it comes on, and as u can see they still put lettuce and tomato🤨) I was first told I couldn’t get that, to which I asked for a manager, RAKIA, RAKAYALYA one of the two, comes and tells me what I asked for. I repeated myself, and was told on but we have to charge you for a bagel. In my mind, I’m like why, bread is bread. So I asked “Why is there an upcharge? I will pay it, just curious!” This girl was so rude and kept rolling her eyes up at me and just kept repeating. I said can I please have contact information for ur GM so I can get the explanation I’m seeking. Mind you 4 workers are just standing around chit chatting. I was told “we don't have scott’s(I think that’s what his name was) contact info” I said ok, then how can I get it, call corporate or are you franchise? To which she says, “idk google, why do you need to talk to him if I just explained its and upcharge?” Then she walks away and ask Hanna to help me. Hanna walks up very nice, and says “what is it you were asking”. I repeated my question. Hannah said “ohh ok, well the croissant is sold as a single item not as a sandwich item(the other breads come with) ,it’s sold like the bagel is sold, so we have to ring it as such, and then Rudeness walks back over and says “….. said you can refuse service, I just explained that”. I said first off no YOU did not explain any of that, you simply told me you HAD TO CHARGE, so you can go back over there bc Hannah is handling this. Needless to say, THANK YOU HANNAH!! You are very professional and willing to go the extra mile to explain something to customers!!!!! If the DM would please reach out via email, I can’t find your information. 😉. PSA: to the secret person in the back who told RAKAYLA, RAKILA WHATEVER, that she can refuse me service, COME OUT NEXT TIME🙄
