Because of my job I have lived in various big cities on the east cost and always it was in a luxury building. I would not consider this particular building a luxury one -- just having a doorman and maintenance is not enough to qualify for "luxury". They had used the cheapest, most flimsy materials they could find for the units... I was the first tenant of my unite. Loved the area... its proximity to everything I needed... Very friendly doormen and maintenance guys. But once, I locked myself out and the doorman asked me for $25 to give me the master key to open my door otherwise, if I'd reported it to the management I was going to be charged $75 or $100 (I don't remember exactly), he said, which I had remembered reading in the lease agreement...So, he was going to keep the $25 for himself???? This kind of attitude really bothered me. Also, I would quite often be away for weeks at a time due to my job. A few times I realized that my shower was used -- leaving some dirt behind... It really made me feel very uncomfortable and insecure... Also, I don't know why I usually did not feel very safe when I was in my apartment -- as if I was being watched... The maintenance men could open any door they wanted at any time -- which I found out when I locked myself out again (after a year or so)... and now that they knew me and they were more friendly and did not even ask me for money to open the door. Hmmm... I think, in 2019, they told me that they had to record it in their computerized system whenever they had to open a door with their master key -- otherwise, they said, they would get in trouble, according to new regulations. But apparently, they opened my neighbor's door with no hassle...hmmm... Also, they don't ask or log the visitors... Oh, one ore thing, whenever there is a water outage (could happen several times a year) , the air build-up in the pipes would make such a constant loud noise that it would make it impossible to sleep at night...When you complained about it, maintenance men would come into your unit to determine the source of the noise to no avail usually...the noise would continue for weeks! Anyway, the area is very nice and safe in general. Although not the "best", this particular building is still considered one of the best compared to some older and smelly buildings in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām assuming his name is Paul(based on the negative reviews on him), I didnāt catch a name because of how uncomfortable and gross the interaction was, but if heās a larger white guy and bald, then yeah iām talking about him. My mom and I were picking something up from someone who lives in this building that was giving away something she no longer wanted. She told us to go to her apt. and gave us her apt #. We stopped at the front desk/ doorman to let him know and HE looked at my mother as if SHE was the idiot, like he couldnāt believe what he had heard. We were there to pick up a floor lamp, he goes a LAMP? and looks at her weird. Continued to make faces. My mother tells him Yes a lamp?! and she just gave him the same look. he then proceeds to tell her Okay well I have rules and and babbles on about how itās odd and heās ānever heard of thatāShe told him that itās something someone lives here is giving away. He rolled his eyes and couldnāt care what she had to say, huffs and puffs about what apartment it is and to just go. As sheās walking away he comments āLooking at me like Iām the idiotā and continues to rant on. what kind of doorman do you guys have here? He said it infront of multiple people present too. Looked at us up and down. Made the interaction SUPER uncomfortable and distasteful. I guess because we werenāt dressed in high end clothing like the other guest that was present it was just his opportunity to treat her different. We had grabbed the item and ended up leaving. He treated my mother horrible because he has rules for this building ⦠last time i checked you donāt own the building⦠youāre a doorman⦠and on top of that, thereās a way of talking to a person, you donāt go around talking to someone like that because you probably had a bad day. Youāre in the customer service field, you talk to people everyday and you are literally the first person people see when they walk in!!! suck it up or get a new job if you donāt like your current one. I donāt even live in Jersey city but this was my first impression of a building i never step foot into, and if i ever decide to live in JC, this would be the last place Iād even consider. You need a better face for this building if you want people staying here and feeling COMFORTABLE to walk around and communicate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExceptional Service at Aquablu ā Huge Thanks to Mauricio, Ramon, and Paul! š
I had the pleasure of regularly visiting my sister on the 31st floor of Aquablu, and every moment was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment I stepped into the building, I was greeted by a fresh, inviting scent and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skylineāespecially from the skydeck, which felt like a serene oasis floating above the city. What truly set Aquablu apart was its incredible team of doormen: Mauricio, Ramon, and Paul. From day one, they were the heartbeat of the buildingāprofessional, warm, and consistently went the extra mile to make my family feel welcome. Whether it was helping with luggage during the move, sharing local tips, or simply greeting us with genuine smiles, their kindness and attention to detail made every visit feel like coming home. Aquablu itself is a luxury gem in Newport, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious layouts, and unbeatable access to Manhattan via the PATH. But itās the peopleāespecially Mauricio, Ramon, and Paulāwho made it truly unforgettable. š Highly recommend Aquablu, and a heartfelt thank you to the doormen who made it shine...
