Wasn’t going to leave a review but having a moment of frustration and still not confident enough to go out from the experience and it’s been two weeks.

First the good: barber could not have been nicer. I made the choice to select what was clearly one of the newer barbers in training as labeled on the website, and he and the entire staff could not have been more nice.

The tuff part: Was very particular about a part of my hair I did not want cut and made it very very clear not to cut it as I had been working hard to regrow it and I brought that up many times— to the point where i held the piece of hair and said “do not cut this at all” and he agreed. I looked on in deep shock as he, in the middle of the haircut, grabbed the entire part and cut it clean off making it worse than it’s ever been and all my progress regrowing it has been restarted. It was cut down to basically the scalp. To make matters worse in an effort to balance he replicated the problem on the the other side. It’s been hard blow to my confidence since then and I’ve never felt so insecure about my cut. I do not think this was malicious obviously but the blatant disregard for the single thing I very clearly asked not to do has led me to feel very frustrated. There’s a difference between making a mistake due to inexperience vs making a mistake due to genuinely not listening or disregarding directions

All the other customers in there seemed to be regulars and I can tell by the reviews this is not the norm. My only advice to the establishment would be to emphasize to the earlier in their career barbers the importance of actually listening and echoing back and confirming how the cut should be done prior to the haircut, and to customers to be clear before, during and continuously...

The atmosphere and service were great. They prewashed my hair, which I thought was long lost art. Unfortunately, the good part ended there. It seems like I am the only one who got a bad haircut based on all the great reviews here. I was lulled in by 4.9 star reviews. I chose the apprentice based on reviews stating how great apprentices were. Also, he was the only one available for my schedule. I showed a picture of me and asked for the same hairstyle. I had about an hour and I was expecting about 45 minutes. It took 1.5 hours and my hair was inspected by a barber. I didn’t like the haircut since it was totally different than the picture, but I was running late, my hair grows fast, and I am not that picky with my haircut unless it’s really noticeable. When I came home and showered and flaws were very visible. To quote my friend’s joke, it looks like my head got ran over by a lawnmower. Did I get a super rookie apprentice? Should I have picked a barber? I cannot say.
