The Salon is great! I recently moved here from Cali and was looking for a place I could trust to get my hair done. I did a lot of research and I'm glad I ended up at The Salon. I hope this helps anyone that is searching for their new hairdresser.

I work with Nicole and she is amazing! She is super sweet, and makes the two hours in the chair go so fast with the most easy going conversation. My normal routine is color and cut. With Nicoles direction, we are working toward a more ashy blonde than golden using three different colors to give it demension. She goes for a more natural look which is great but I always like to say i'm a true blonde ;) For my last cut, went with a Kristen Cavallari look. She showed me this great technique for getting a wave tousled look while blow drying- it was pretty cool.

Now for the products.... I love them! Not only do they smell amazing but she knows what to use/recommend on my hair for my trouble spots and to make my hair feel healthy. At my last appointment she used and then recommended the Morrocan Oil shampoo and conditioner. I've been using it for about two months and I'm really liking it. Its really moisturizing- sometimes a little too much, but it also smells amazing. She also used the Morrocan Oil smoothing cream because my hair is so dry and adds this amazing Kevin Murphy shimmer shine which makes my hair so soft. I LOVE the shimmer shine spray. When I put this stuff in my hair I can't stop touching it all day! At this last appointment she recommended kerawhip which is a deep conditioning treatment for my dry ends. Again, I've been using it for 2 months and it's the best conditioner I've ever used. It smells amazing and is perfect for my fine hair. Doesn't over moisturize, but leaves it soft and smooth.

I have been going to The Salon for over a year now and am always been pleased with the end-product. I have referred all of my friends and family to this salon because I believe it embodies the characteristics of what I (and most women) want: a relaxed ambience, personal attention, and knowledgeable hairstylists. This charming salon on Main Street is comfortable because it does not employ massive amounts of stylists, but rather has only six or seven stations. The small staff makes it easier for clients to become familiar with everyone, which ultimately fosters a comfortable and relaxing environment. All of the stylists are well-educated because they are encouraged to go to trade shows and continue their education in the evolving hair product/care market. Because of the business's focus on education, I trust the stylists to use the best methods and products on my hair.

In fact, I am so trusting in my stylist, Nicole, that I often just walk in and let her try whatever new method or product she has recently learned about on me. I trust her because she is passionate about what she does and realizes (where most stylists do not) that as her client I am an extension of her. Because getting my hair done requires time and money, I am so thankful that I have a friend with whom I enjoy spending the hour(s).

The simple review; 5 stars and you should come here! The long story is I moved about 1 year ago and my hunt for a hair stylist started - I usually go light hair during summer and go dark during winter and regular hair trim. I also consider myself hair illiterate! and I need a professional who understand what I need from just describing it in lay language! Also, weighing in when what I describe doesn't make sense or try to figure what I want and make suggestions or recommendations ! So, I went to different places here and I was always disappointed before even leaving the salon ! Anyway, I googled more options because never to give up! Found the salon, checked their website, reviews here and there and it sounded promising. Called for a consult because I was tired of just going all in. Met Nicole and I explained to her past and how I want the future to look like! She told me 2 best options! Made my decision on one and came back the week after! Took us about 3.5 hours to get what we wanted and I'm 100% satisfied. So, I finally can say that I have a hairstylist in Kansas City that I can go to to get my hair done!
