Yesterday, august 15th at around 6:30pm, I went into this store with my boyfriend and were shortly greeted by a white male sales associate who asked us if we’re finding everything ok. Me and my boyfriend continued browsing the same jewelry section and then I noticed we were being watched by the same employee. He was standing there and watching us for some reason, okay cool. Then we move to another part of the store to continue browsing and again I notice we were being followed. Every time we would take a few steps in one direction, this employee would move with us parallel. At this point I was contemplating just putting my stuff down and not giving Spencer’s any of my business. But we stepped into the checkout line and again found him standing like 5 feet away next to the checkout counter, whispering something to his coworker and he pointed at me and my boyfriend. When we were next at the checkout counter, the cashier asked me with an attitude, “is this everything…?” And I looked around me and said yes ma’am! As I was paying for my 2 items, she told me “oh we don’t take Apple Pay do you have any other form of payment…” and I told her yes, and as I was opening up my purse she was almost looking right into it. I confronted her and told her that her employee has been following us around the store for 20 minutes and watching us closely and making comments to his coworkers about me and my boyfriend, as if we had done something wrong. And her response was, “oh I’m sorry about that, something expensive was stolen here today so we have to keep an eye on the customers” and I said, well, if that’s the case, then why are me and my boyfriend the ONLY customers being watched and followed in your store? She had no response. Way to be “subtle” and professional. Train your employees or hire a loss prevention specialist if they’re that...
Read moreI was there today January 2, at around 5:30pm with my boyfriend and my best friend. We go to this store at least a couple times every couple of weeks, so much so we are known by some of the employees who greet us nicely every time. However, today we were going about our business as we always do in this store, looking at the merch, and a few minutes into our usual route, what seemed to be a new employee (very fair skin, bright red hair) approached us and said “Since you guys… you gotta go” No explanation, just kicked us out of the store. This has never happened before in this or any store we’ve ever been to, and we have been to this store many, many times. Really...
Read moreThe employee working Tuesday @ 4/5 was extremely inappropriate with her conversations with the customers in front of us. I understand it’s Spencer’s but there were 2 small children under 7 walking around in there too and she was talking about numbing throat spray they sold and how she used it. We waited in line for her conversation to end for over 7 minutes after they had checked out and were just talking and talking about the spray and her makeup and how she does her routines. I worked customer service before, and this was an absurd amount of time to be conversing with a customer while you have others in...
