Short caveat: Anything that I give 4 or 5 stars is vote of confidence. The reason I recommend this store is that I have been there for 2-4 battery issues and each time my issues were all handled immediately, or diagnosed quickly for me so that I know what I was up against.
Why not 5 stars? Well, it's almost for the same above reasons. The employees that I have dealt with always seemed to be quick and got me a battery or an answer promptly, but even though it was not busy in the store any of the times that I was there, I felt like there wasn't a lot of attention to what I was saying. They seemed to quickly form an opinion of what I wanted and then they went into action without really doing a lot of listening.
For example, I had a remote control that would not work. The employee initially grabbed the remote and looked at the battery then jumped to the conclusion that I needed a new battery and started to pull one out for me. I had to interrupt that process and start to explain that I didn't know if the problem was the battery or not.
I then explained that whenever I try to use it, the remote doesn't work at all, but if I repeately push the volume button, eventually it jumps to life and then I don't have any problems at all with it unless I stop using the remote for a long time. I suggested that if they have a way to test the battery, that it might tell me if the problem was that I needed a battery, or if I might have a problem with my remote and/or device. So he seemed to almost a little reluctantly say, as if it wasn't a normal thing to do, "I guess I could check it with the volt meter." I said, "Great! Exactly, that would be good."
The battery was supposed to be a 3v battery and it was reading 2.88v, which to me seemed like it should be close enough, but he said "that would be considered a 'dead' battery." I then said, "Then why does it seem to work perfectly after I've been pushing buttons for a while? It was only then that he said, "Well, let's go try it on our remote control tester" as he walked over to a self-service unit (that I didn't know they had) that would display an LED light level showing how strong your remote control signal is projecting. It showed a strong signal from the very first button press. It was then that he suggested, and I agreed, that the problem may be in may device's receiver, and not in the remote.
Don't get me wrong--I was happy with the outcome of all of my encounters. I just feel that I should save that 5th star for the day when I see the employee stop, look me in the eye, smile, and listen to what it is that I have to say before jumping to conclusions that may not be the right solution. Other merchants that I have given 5 stars to provide that kind of customer interaction.
In my career(s) I have found that taking a little more time up front keeps you from having to make several attempts to resolve a problem. Reminds me of the saying, "If you don't have time to do it right, when are you going to have time to do it over?"
All that said, I give Batteries+ a positive review. I will continue to use them in the future, and I can, without hesitation, recommend that you give them a try next time you have a battery problem. (I should add that apparently they have other services, but I have not engaged them for things like bulbs or cellphone...

I would not have even attempted that Video that would have "WASTED VALUABLE TIME!!!!" ... I'm not that stupid!!!! I tryed to get them to watch the video... because most of the more serious issue's were over half way thru the 26 min Video... "CRACKLING SOUNDS... THUNDERISH BACKGROUND... LOSS OF VOLUME... INCLUDING THE RIGHT STEREO SPEAKER... THAT WOULD COME AND GO... ALONG WITH CRACKLING SOUNDS!!!!"" They refused to watch it... then hooked it to a computer... talked to it for a few seconds... and listened to the playback... and then said... "WE DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG?!?!" š§ Well... I finally got fed up and left... and they gave me their Managers card with email address... which I found out I couldn't send the file... it was too large to email!! Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally donāt do reviews like this unless itās worth my time and I feel like I should to possibly help others that may be in a similar situation. First off I made an āappointment ā on batteries plusās website for Tue at 10am I bring it in and the younger gentleman starts taking a look at it but the way he looked a bit confused like he shouldnāt be working thereā¦idk if he was new or just not very knowledgeable but it made me nervous off the bat, he continues to try and āfigure it outā and after 20 min he says Iām good now and prints out an invoice for me to look at (mind you I messed up and thought it was an ipad2 when scheduling but itās in fact a ipad9 ) price for screen replacement was 99.99 + tax he then tells me itās a min of up to two day turnaround but could be done sooner if they can get to it earlierā¦idk what the point of scheduling an appointment online is? Might as well drop it off at your convenience and just wait. I leave and wait for the repair, I call the next morning and they tell me that itās not been worked on yet but should be done by end of day.. ok cool, 1 hour later they call me to let me know that it is not an iPad 2 but and iPad 9 (my mistake) and the price will double to $199 +tax! AND they donāt have the screen in stock so I would have to wait for them to order it. I then decide that is WAY TOO MUCH when I can get a refurbished one on Amazon for $239⦠after letting them know I will just pick it up they are fine with my decision. I go into the store and a man that appears to be a manager helps me and gives me back my iPad tells me sorry about that and I tell him itās ok! I called EZ FIX Cell phone repair and he was able to fit me in for an appointment in one hour has the part in stock and is only $110+tax the man is in shock and says āoh well hopefully they donāt mess it upā cause the screens are different (like I wouldnāt confirm it was correct after this?) anyways 2 hours later from leaving their store my son is on the couch happy again able to play his iPad:)
Things to take away from this for myself 1: always double check your device before getting quotes 2: always call around (which I normally do) cause there might be better deals and availability As for Batteries Plus 1:please have your employees double check the devices before giving quotes to help confirm itās correct incase the customer messes up ;) instead of letting the customer know 24 hours later waisting valuable time. 2: LOWER YOUR PRICES in todays market you have to be competitive you donāt want to end up like radio shack..plus repairs SHOULDNāT cost just as much as purchasing a new one thats just bad business. 3: fix the appointment scheduling on the website if thatās not when you are actually fixing the device then disclose that information or take it off completely just a thought. 4: just all around better training/customer service Iām not trying to bash just giving some constructive criticism. You have all the great things posted on your website yet I didnāt experience...
