One star rating is too high!! Customer service is atrocious! First, off ship shopping in port, went into store, placed order. At that time they said they’d ship. Box was received, and eaten by recipients. That is how we found out the box sent to our family was shipped incorrectly. I called & spoke with store associate & they assured us they would send out correct order. After weeks of waiting still no correct order was sent. Spoke with LILA who lied about leaving message for how it would be reconciled. No message ever received! Her way of handling situation was to charge the difference due to fact that what was originally sent was more expensive, so she said. Or, we could send back the first order & theyd send the original order. At that time I told her it was already eaten & how much was the difference needed to pay for items not received . She was unsure of order so how did she know the amount was more? Also when asked if she would be able to send the missing dog treats her answer was they were gone so she wouldn’t be able to. If that was the case how then LILA COULD YOU HAVE SENT THE ORIGINAL ORDER. The mistake that was made by the incompetence of store shipping. Not the customers fault!!Poor, poor customer service and lack of intelligence by Lila. She explained they’ve been in business for 38 years, who cares when your doing business in the manner you are I’ve read all the other bad reviews & you’re lucky if you make it to 39 years. Recently in Ketchikan, lots of options for salmon there but decided on this one. Shop is simple, no decorations, minimal overhead--prices were the lowest of the shops I saw (some don't even price their products). Purchased a pound of vacuum packed king salmon to take home. The box said "sampler" but all the pieces were the same flavor, no matter. Good king salmon doesn't need that much help. Flavor was rich, complex, and fishy (in a good way). No artificial colors or preservatives. Very lightly smoked ("taste the meat, not the heat" -- Hank Hill). Tasted like it was fresh off the dock, better than king I ordered by mail through SeaBear before.

Salmon Etc. at 322 Mission St in Ketchikan, Alaska is everything I was looking for! I walked into a very busy store (because 4 ships were in town) anyway, I waited in line & asked about shipping salmon to my home. The owner was extremely helpful & took the time to explain the process, the different fish, poundage & cost. After I decided he wrote up the order. He promised my Salmon & Halibut would be delivered on 8/20/25 and that is exactly what transpired! Now my family is interested in placing orders with this company. The fish is BEAUTIFUL and deboned & the packaging is sized perfectly!! The price is better than the local market I shop & I don’t mind paying a bit more for fresh salmon & cutting out the middleman.
