AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Luckily they’re getting 1 star because if i could, I’d put nothing. We overlooked so many other great places in Ketchikan to go to this dump. When y party of 3 arrived, we waited at the counter to be seated. There was a young female employee who kept looking over at the door where more and more people kept coming in and we’re waiting. ZERO acknowledgment. I understand where the restaurant can be busy but at least acknowledge the fact you have customers waiting for 20 minutes now just looking around. How bad can it be to say “we’ll be right with you”?! Don’t ignore the fact that I’m standing there. I truly wanted to see how long we were going to stand there.. a total of 30 minutes had passed. I ended up going to the bar and just observed all 20 people standing at the door waiting for a table. We didn’t order food because we had no clue how long it would take and besides, we needed to give ourselves time to head back to the ship.
We were at the bar maybe 15 minutes. Drank one beer and paid the bill immediately. It wasn’t until we started to get our things and leave that another employee finally went to get menus and start seating people. So now, and entire 45 minutes with ZERO acknowledgment of customers. Unacceptable and terrible service. And I’m glad we didn’t eat there because the reviews I’ve read are terrible. If you want to have crab legs definitely eat at...
Read moreOur server, Jasper, was a total star! Even with being busy and understaffed (they are still hiring), she was attentive and very kind and understanding. We had a great time and great food and would definitely recommend it!
Unfortunately, I would not recommend the manager, Shelice / Charlize (unknown spelling). We came because they had a promotion where if you buy a beer, you got a Alaskan brewery shot glass. As a tourist, that's pretty cool and we really wanted it. Right up front, we were told they didn't have them (total bait and switch) and that they had no replacement (annoying, but not terrible). Then she chewed out Jasper in front of everyone saying things like "don't offer that to anyone else!" And "fine just give that table ONLY a bag", but [only 3 instead of one per customer like the promotion says]". We even brought in the printed promotion we got in the city. It was really unprofessional for the manager to discipline the server publicly, let alone the fact that she was shooting the messenger who had no control over the promotion or us asking. Absolutely a train wreck, and a manager that obviously needs...
Read moreThis place has the same menu set up as Annabelle's Famous Keg & Chowder House - maybe they are sister restaurants. However, Annabelle's King Crab leg was $59.99 USD and King Crab Co was $49.99, so we decided to go here.
We ordered one leg, clam chowder, and crab wontons. The leg was very mediocre - not very sweet. The leg wasn't very thick so there wasn't a lot of meat. The shell was kind of pliable - the crab claw cracker couldn't even break the legs apart because the shell was soft enough to bend. The clam chowder was thick and the soup base was yummy but there weren't a lot of clams. Very expensive for $12. The crab wontons were like crab rangoon - crab + cream cheese except I did not taste or see any crab meat at all. The dipping sauce was a sweet chili sauce.
Very disappointing. On top of this, service was very slow even though half the tables were empty.
Also you will notice a mandatory kitchen tip in your bill. And the suggested tip is calculated on after the kitchen tip and tax so it is misleading. The suggested tip should be calculated...
