Manners don't cost a cent... Giving a 1 star review based on the below: 1. Bad customer service: Very cold service from the front desk. One time, I asked for directions and recommendations. The receptionist behind the desk just glared at and without answering, kept pointing to my right. It took me a while to realise that she wanted me to look at the map myself. After watching me stuggle to find where the hotel was on the map as it's not marked, she retreated behind her phone. 2. Outdated and dirty rooms: The room was very basice with a very loud AC. At one point in the evening, I realised my shower wasn't working when I turned the tap. Unfortunately this seemed to annoy the receptionist as so it happened to be 30 minutes before the front desk closes at 10pm. After coming to my room and hitting the tap a few times, it started working. Cleaners don't clean well as you can see from the pictures and one dropped my razor onto the dirty floor (at least leave a sorry note or replace with a new razor!) Be careful of being placed in the room facing the main street where your view will be of the trash cans and maybe someone peeping though the holes in your blinds to see you in bed or in the shower. 3. Overpriced 'resort fee': I didn't realise that there was a compulsory resort fee charge. This gives you a free continental breakfast in the morning. The only good thing there is the waflle maker machine. Happy Hour includes free sticks of cheese, chips and wine although no one really goes to it. On a positive note, the location was ok as it was a few minutes walk from the famous Southernmost point spot and also to the quieter end of Duval street. To summarise, I've stayed in a range of accomodations from budget hostels to nice hotels. This is the worst experience at a hotel I have had. For the inflated price, I should have just found a cheaper hostel which probably would have been better.

I don't normally leave reviews. However, I have been staying at this property over 15 years and it is now a shell of its former self. I booked online through Expedia and was surprised upon check in that they are charging a $44 per day "amenities fee" as the desk girl called it. What?? The amenities are what get people to book your hotel in the first place. They are not extra. When I called Expedia they said it was listed in their system as a "resort fee" ummmm this is a small boutique hotel not a resort by any stretch of the imagination. Anyway, the hot tub is one of the best "amenities " and.... it is broken as I showed in the pic. So I sat in the luke warm, unfiltered, no jets working hot tub last night contemplating my $44 amenities experience. Also, the bar 🍸 that was here for years is now a maintenance closet killing the locals vibe. The front desk attendants last night and this morning could not care less about anything and have the personality of a disgruntled postal worker. The floors are worn out, the TV is extremely small with grainy cable (TVs are literally the cheapest thing to upgrade) the railing by the door is ripped off the wall etc etc. Fast forward to this morning as I had coffee by the "maintenance closet" in walks the Maintenance guy at 8am. I thought awesome he's probably going to fix those items.... it's 940am and he's just been sitting in the closet the whole time. 🙄 If I were charging $44 per day for amenities and my Hot Tub was broken it would be an emergency. However, it is not. I'm very sad to see this property turn into a faceless, neglected, Motel 6 with a better facade. Only thing it has now is location. I attempted to speak to someone before making this post However, there is nobody here that cares. Buyer Beware.

We had no idea when booking that the front desk goes home around 10pm! Arrived at 10:07pm and just got lucky that the receptionist was waiting for her ride home, so we got our key. (I had even called and left voicemail around 7pm that evening explaining I was arriving a bit later but no one explained it closes.) I'm not sure if 'security' would have ever shown up as claimed- there were others that arrived and banged on front door. I still don't know if they were helped or just gave up. Besides that issue of not being informed in advance, the employees were friendly, rooms were private and spotless, ice maker worked very well, and the pools/hot tub were tranquil to enjoy at all hours of the night - no kids on property. The lush landscaping is beautiful day and night although grounds are slightly disjointed and confusing to navigate with the different sections of property. A wheelchair could be accommodated in certain rooms depending on the steps at the pool deck. Breakfast was a full amazing spread with fruit salad, bananas, eggs, sausage, pancakes, muffins, cereal, grits, juice, coffee, and more- even a free Starbucks machine that offers hot chocolate and coffee. There was also a coffee maker in room and microwave in the main lobby dining hall which is accessible for guests through back door at night (we brought late night dinner inside). Parking meter parallel from hotel entry is not charged from Midnight to Eight AM otherwise is $5 per hour. There are free spots along streets further away. Don't be startled from the close proximity to the air base and their jet engines taking off in very early morning hours. Overall, I would come back here again for the value.

Extremely dissatisfied. I stayed at this hotel in June 2019 for my honeymoon and we loved it! The amenities were good, service and staff were pleasant and we thought it was worth the price we paid. Stayed in room 218. However, following this past trip, I would never go back!!! Totally not worth the price or location. My friend and I were supposed to check in Friday (and stay Friday/Saturday night), but our flight was cancelled that morning so we were driving and wouldn’t get there until Saturday morning. On the drive down we called the hotel 3 times and left 3 messages to see if we could move our reservation or make sure our room would be available when we got there. No response at all. We booked through Priceline so I called their customer service rep who was so kind. She called the hotel and had trouble getting in touch with them too, but once she did she said the woman at the desk was not nice and not helpful. There was not a single thing they could do and they were “pretty sure” they could hold the room for us. We were driving 20+ hours to a hotel that maybe wouldn’t even a hold a room for us that we booked and paid for the weekend?! Very stressful. When we finally arrived, we confirmed that the woman at the front desk was not nice and also not helpful. There was nothing they could do and were not accommodating at all. She tried to charge us an extra $35 “resort fee” that I KNOW we already paid through Priceline. I said absolutely not and even though I showed her my Priceline receipt with the prepaid fee she gave me an attitude. We paid an extra $25 to park at the hotel overnight which, at that point we were exhausted so I didn’t even care. Finally we get into the room (211), and it’s dirty and disgusting. Clumps of hair in the shower, dirt and grime on the bathroom surfaces - it takes a lot to gross me out and we wore flip flops to shower. Holes/cracks in the walls. Dirt/debris under the bed (I unfortunately dropped something that rolled under there and I had to get it so I saw). The only thing clean was the bed and towels. They wouldn’t move our reservation so we only stayed one night on Saturday and checked out Sunday. Would never go back. There are so many other great places to stay! The ONLY reason I am giving two stars is because the pool is nice, the happy hour and free breakfast they offer is also nice and the...

Below average experience here.

Staff were rude, even before setting foot on the premises. We called to check where the parking was, due to road works making it unclear, and the receptionist was so unhelpful. It almost appeared to be an inconvenience whenever we would ask a question during our stay.

Parking was extortionate!!! We paid $150 for 3 nights after tax. Was told it was $25 per night, then when tax was added and it came to a higher total than expected, the receptionist came back with a sarcastic “welcome to key west sir”.

Got to our room and it was TINY. No dresser or table, had to use the top of the fridge to do my make up. It was dingy, dirty and rundown. Floor was weirdly uneven and there were marks on the wall where old screws had been. The lock on the door was worn. The A/C was ridiculously loud and would let off a stale, musty smell. The window was covered it what looked like mould. I’ve stayed in hostels that are a lot nicer. Walls are paper thin, we had a loud couple next door fighting and banging at 2am and due to there being no onsite receptionist/security throughout the night, there was no one to assist so we had no choice but to endure a live episode of Jeremy Kyle.

Housekeeping available after 2nd night. Given it’s a small hotel I would expect my room to be made up each day. When it was made up, the buns were still full and the toilet paper wasn’t topped up.

Breakfast was included but mediocre. The dining area was dingy, awkwardly quiet, needed some sort of background noise. Starbucks coffee machine was ok but not great, only had black coffee or hot chocolate. Happy hour was pathetic, cheap wine and a few blocks of cheese. No options for soft drinks throughout the day, website says vending machine but we didn’t see this anywhere?

The pool area was nice and quiet and the overall location was good but still not enough to make up for the generally rubbish standards. Such a shame as the building itself is lovely from the outside and inn has so much potential but needs a serious update and a...

first of all, we stood in the front ‘lobby’ for 10 minutes waiting for a staff member. another guest waiting informed us that ‘she’ll be here soon, she likes to wander’.. should’ve been our first red flag, then we get to the adjunct building and were immediately met with damp, mildew air and rusty and dilapidated hallway. we get to our room and when i say you could stand two people together with their arms out and that would be the span of the room, there is zero exaggeration. the bathroom was riddled with rust drippings so make sure you’re updated on your tetanus shots and the shower head basically didn’t work, the bed was two sits away from breaking and there were still stickers left on the bedside table from likely ikea. there was one singular chair in the room that my boyfriend deemed ‘the cuck chair’ no wifi connection given we weren’t in the main building, no bars. best of all? the view. of a tarp. a literal tarp. oh and a shed. can’t forget the garbage. at least we can smile and wave to the building next to us since a window is staring directly into our room. we tried to go and get a different room and were met with little care and told to come back in the morning to see if there’s availability, they’re in peak holiday season so i can level with that but i would’ve hoped in the first place that this wouldn’t be a problem with what we paid. then after a long night of festivities my boyfriend and i wanted to lay back and watch some cable. what were we met with? the ring. 7 dayyyyys. that’s what it felt like. if you’re epileptic do NOT turn on the TV; the only button that worked on that remote was the on/off button which basically was the universe telling us to go to bed before the people on the floor above us started walking since it sounded like the giant from jack and the beanstalk was about to come down whenever they took so much as a single step. long story short. avoid avoid avoid. please for the sake...
