Key West Pottery — Attraction in Key West

This eclectic pottery studio was a treasure to find on Duval Street. I was pulled inside by my curiosity as I looked through the window at the potter at her wheel. As it turned out, she was one of the owners, and was happy to stop and chat. There were so many unique and cool pieces, I literally didn't know where to look first. Kelly, and her husband Adam have a wonderful business and a friendly manner that is very engaging. I ended up deciding to order a mug, with the 'famous' Key West rooster, hand painted by Kelly on it. It is one of their very popular pieces and they were not quite finished at the time we left. When I got home, the mug arrived the very next day! I couldn't be happier with the absolutely coolest mug ever, but also with the excellent customer service! Always kind, and ready to chat, both owners were just a pleasure to meet! My partner and I recently traveled to Key West, having followed Key West Pottery on instagram, I wanted to make it a stop on our trip. The Gallery is a beautiful space that highlights pottery and 2D art. We were greeted by Gary, who works there, and given an incredible customer service experience. Gary greeted us warmly, allowed us time to browse, offered answers to questions about pottery, and even gave us some wonderful tips about Key West travel, from taking it easy to exploring lanes and getting lost off Duval street (The pink bush across the street was in full bloom and was a special highlight of our conversation, it was beautiful!). We walked away with a great experience, beautiful piece of pottery, and glad to know humans like Gary exist in this world....

Hands down one of my favorite shops in Key West. It’s a delightful shop and gallery that stands out from the schlocky t-shirt and souvenirs shops. All pieces are created by a husband and wife team that live in the area and occasionally come in. The shop clerk Sue was extremely knowledgeable of the technique and dye applications. She also didn’t force you to purchase and gave you space to mull over even if that meant coming back or placing an order over the phone. I purchased and had my piece shipped.
