I've attempted needed surgery on my spine for a year and my ear since Christmas.
The typical visit to the ER includes being abused by the staff who express how much they hate their jobs. They are aggressive and violent. More than not decent as it usually goes but are also turning a blind eye to the behavior in their facility. One sits anywhere from six to twelve hours of sitting and dealing with the aggressive staff barbing myself and other patients regardless of their walk of life.
A typical behavior is the staff are eager to bring down security on patrons and this appears to revolve around standing up and going to the restroom and/or having a drink of water. I can only emphasize the violent demeanor in this. And towards the act of speaking.
In my case sitting in this position damages the spine more and causes me agony. I was punished for expressing this. In most cases scans were done. This they seem to well at.
When it comes to applying treatment in most cases it was the wrong treatment which I rejected, having to fight them about it due to said aggressive behavior which I will compare to running a prison facility. The same is said of making any attempt to leave the facility. Staff will aggressively attempt to stop one from doing so. In all cases I have had to contact the insurance and report it.
At some point one will be put in a room. Sometimes there is blood all over the floor. More staff will enter and more often spend their time barbing the patient. Staff often use charred words and focus on person's walk of life rather than any sort of therapy. More than once the staff suggested street drugs as cure for any illness on the table which they appear fond themselves.
The other day they tried to encourage me to do LSD. I attempted to talk about this the next day and ask them to resolve this matter and was yes, greeted with aggression. I then contacted the Attorney General's office and reported the incident and was directed to additionally log a case with the drug task force of Arizona. Additionally to this I was prompted to report the matters of patient abuse and discrimination to various agencies. This is pending and legal council is also being worked out. On multiple occasions staff have claimed to me that they are "gangsters" without prompt in what appears to be a coercive motion. This has also been reported to the AG's office and is pending investigation.
Any attempt to appeal said infractions is taken to the advocates. It appears their job is to cover up anything their including any illegal activities and not help the patients in any sort of manner.
This again appears to be only a small number of staff but does not matter again as they are given free reign to behave however they choose.
Upon interviewing various persons in the city I could not find a single person that spoke in a light manner about the facility. All invoked dread. Multiple persons stated something to the effect of "that hospital will let you die". This was also stated by patrons at the hospital and every story was about how they were being abused by the staff, sometimes which I witnessed. Citizens otherwise have stated in every instance that they will go as far to drive to another city even in the event of an emergency simply to avoid the horrible experience of the facility and it's staff and/or for fear they will incur further health issues by negligent treatment.
The bothersome part of all of this is the only reason I visit is because I am seeking medical help which I to date have not received. Which should be the reason for anyone to visit a healthcare facility and the staffs reason for working at one to provide it. Yet by their own words and rantings on the internet this appears to somehow to be the core issue in itself?
I continue to attempt to go to the facility having little other options out of the hope that I will simply get lucky and meet one person who just cares about other people and end up receiving medical treatment. All the while doing all I can to find other avenues against a worsening and...
Read moreI took my boyfriend in last night for a sever nose bleed. They took his stats right away and put a clamp on his nose and sent him back to the waiting room. The bleed continued to get worse and worse. He was still having a steady stream of blood coming out of his nose even though it was clamped and was spitting blood into an emi bag that was going down his throat. We were left in the waiting room for over an hour. I went to the counter three times telling them it was getting worse. Just kept getting told there was no room for him in the ER. The last time a told them I wanted someone from INSIDE the er to come out and look at him. You could tell from her demeanor from the start that she was just going to give the standard response, which she did, and had no intention of assessing his current condition, which she did not. There is blood all over him, blood all over the floor, nose draining blood (WHILE CLAMPED), every 3 seconds he is spitting blood into a bag and all they can say is we have no place for him but that he is next. He is holding a bag with 20 ounces of blood in it.......OVER A PINT OF BLOOD HE HAS LOST SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM.........but they do not see any urgency. When we finally get into the er they take us the long route to his cubicle and everyone in there can see there is a problem. The nurse immediately has a cart ready to help stop the flow and the dr is in with him almost immediately. Nurse tells us that they are so sorry....if the had KNOWN he was still loosing that amount of blood they would have gotten him in. Explained to her that we told the front desk repeatedly that it was getting worse. She responds that sometimes they don't get the info from up front. I then told her that one of the er staff came out and we told her the same but she did nothing (that staff member happened to be in front of where we were at the time and I pointed her out). Nothing they could say about that other than sorry. The er staff was great, efficient and timely. The dr told us that this was THE worst nose bleed he has seen in a very long time, one that if not treated could cause a patient to bleed out and possibly die. They kept apologizing for leaving him out there so long so someone knows there was a f!@k up in their neglect of him. I would think that those factors should qualify someone for immediate treatment, regardless of your "room shortage". What happened to do no harm? There was blatant, tangible evidence (an emi bag with a pint of blood in it) to show how severe this was. Tell me, someone please tell me, how a medical facility can allow someone to begin to bleed out in your waiting room? What pisses me off most is there are no other options. He could have bled out by the time i got him anywhere else. KRMC is a learning hospital.........yeah......they have A LOT to learn about...
Read moreI don't have issues with my doctor in Henderson! Not sure where you got that. How about having a primary care doctor who refused to have a test run while looking you in the eyes and say, "I assure you that you do not have cancer! She refused to order a CT because she didn't believe there was a issue but offered medication. She called me in for an appointment just so she could put me in my place and tell me she wasn't doing it. I left and found another doctor. She's gone now. By the way, I did have cancer. How about your same day appointment doctor who refused to treat me twice and insisted I go to urgent care. Fortunately I had another option both times. $130.00 twice and no treatment. That's another story. There's more, maybe I'll write it all out when I have the energy. As I said prior, There are a lot of good people and doctors at KRMC, it's too bad that the bad apples affect the reviews of the other hard working staff who give more than 100% to treat the patients whether in the hospital or at the clinics. It's unfortunate that you can't interact with others on their experiences because I find similarities in the stories. What needs to be done is about a three year undercover investigation. It's really the only way that the truth will come to the surface. Not everyone can be lying. #ThinkAboutIt You would have to plant several people of al types and focus on problem areas. Outside eyes, not directly related to treatment or how the patient is being treated would work. The comment I just read having a doctor to have them try elicit drugs, I've experienced, I was asked to try Marijuana and that very same doctor implied to me that I should be careful smoking Marijuana with my oxygen. That's when I about fell out of my chair. Not only did she talk down to me but made accusations that couldn't be confirmed. I read through her notes afterwaeds and she also wasn't accurately documenting what I was telling her. She was modifying what I had told her. The unfortunate thing is that it wasn't the first time. That lady now works at another Pain mngt. Good riddance. I had to go to Henderson to get treatment for my complex pain issues because the new pain management doctor @ KRMC Dr. M. made it clear that he has never prescribed fentanyl and won't start now. He never ever looked at my medical records and everything he said was pushing for injections, nerve blocks, and and I mean he was really pushing hard towards ketamine therapy which used to be used for a street drug. UNBELIEVABLE! That treatment would have caused me serious reactions to the medication. That's one, and two I can't have anymore steroids, as my bones are thin, he insisted there was no steroids in them. He lied about that to. More steroids means more bone damage for me. When you have a doctor who lies like that to his patients it is...
