Was here over the holiday weekend. I was in the store twice in that time. On the first visit, my friend and I were largely ignored. No greeting, no acknowledgment. On the second visit, with a third friend in tow, we still werenât really acknowledged until we started shopping. As we looked at earrings in the front of the store, one of the salespeople hovered nearby. As we tried to engage with her, she seemed to take on an arrogant attitude about the store and the merchandise. My friends wandered further into the store and as I tried to follow them, she was standing in front of me, obviously looking into my open purse to see if I had stolen any of the earrings I had been perusing. Apparently, I did not give off enough of a wealthy appearance to her. This is abhorrent behavior. I will never return to this store and I hope others donât bother to spend time or money here. There is an obvious discriminatory classism happening here. Heaven forbid I had also been a person of color; she probably would have hit the panic button.
EDIT: to respond to the ownerâs post, the issue was not the lack of greeting. And quite frankly, both times I was in the store, there were very few people in there. The issue was the assumption and audacity of the salesperson to blatantly look in my purse after giving nothing but snooty attitude. Perhaps you should look at the other reviews that also indicate this type of behavior. Seems like itâs...

It didn't take me too long to say YES. One because it is a cool looking Santa and two because Karen Bennet runs a great shop, is extremely kind and caring and makes everyone like family when you are in her store. I recommend everyone to stop by her store when they are in Lake Geneva. You can't leave without buying something. You will be...
Read moreWent into the Cornerstone Shop today with my husband. I've been here so many times before and always had a good experience, but today was not the case. There were 2 ladies that couldn't even bother to say hi and another that rolled her eyes and sighed because I was in her way as she had to place something on a shelve. Well I'm sorry.......I'm shopping in your store sorry I was in your way. There were several items I was going to buy, but by the 3 third time someone walked past us and didn't acknowledge us I was done and walked out. Such a shame! I never write negative reviews however customers should at least be acknowledged. A Hi can...
