Our family had such a wonderful experience staying at Lancaster Historic Homes. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. The space was clean, cozy, and full of character—our kids were fascinated by the historic touches, and we appreciated how well the home was maintained and thoughtfully set up for a family.
The host truly went above and beyond. There were board games in the living room, a little welcome basket with local treats (a big hit with our kids!), and even a list of family-friendly activities around town. It’s clear they genuinely care about their guests’ experience.
The location was ideal—quiet and safe, but still close to everything. We spent mornings walking to Central Market for breakfast, and afternoons exploring local museums and nearby Amish attractions. Having such a comfortable home to come back to in the evenings made all the difference. We cooked a few dinners in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed slow mornings around the dining table before heading out for the day.
This stay was the perfect mix of charm, convenience, and relaxation. If you're looking for a meaningful family trip where everyone—from kids to grandparents—can feel comfortable and cared for, I highly recommend this spot. We’re already talking about coming...
Read moreUpon arrival of this room I was so uncomfortable that I immediately picked up my bags and left. Room is just "ok," mattress is older and squeaks. Foyer consists of 4 doors: 1 for bedroom; 1 for bathroom; 2 basic, interior doors that attach this room to the 'tenants.' The tenant was coughing profusely, talking, and doing her dishes. I could hear every move she made. There was absolutely no sound barrier whatsoever. I am very safe when it comes to germs because I have two children that have very serious diagnoses and are followed closely by CHOP, so having this woman hacking behind the simple interior door was very alarming for me. I wrote to the homeowners immediately, letting them know that I could not stay there, and kindly asked for refund. They have refused to...
Read moreBeing from the south, steeped in southern traditions and architecture, I was unaware of the subtle surprises encountered in Lancaster. Along with the nuances of Amish culture and farming, I felt like I was taken to a historical, time stamped, location. Especially while staying in one of the homes offered by Lancaster Historic Homes. I was thoroughly impressed by the attention to detail within the home. Small things you'd normally only read about in books. I will be back, and will definitely stay in one of...
