I have been going to the Altoona store for years to get Swan Creek candles. I doubt I will EVER be back after THIS visit. A creepy woman followed us all around the store. Everywhere we turned, there she was, never saying a word. We finally split up to try to get rid of her. I picked up some potholders I decided to buy and there she was standing there... she never said a word, just stood there. I don't know what her deal is, but if it's to make customers extremely uncomfortable by being stalked, then goal achieved. The Woodshed is a store I normally love to spend time and walk around at look at things, but this woman ruined it for me. I grabbed the first candle that smelled decent and headed to the register and got out. Thanks weird stalker lady for ruining my annual trip to the Woodshed. I don't like being treated like a shoplifter after being in the store...
Read moreThis is a really nice store with many unique items. It's a little bit pricey but the merchandise is of better quality, making them worth the price. Lots of stuff from fishing tackle to candles to kitchen gadgets, curtains, porcelain dolls, collectibles, glassware, and many other things. Just be careful around the breakable items because there was one employee who jumped to the conclusion that I picked something up and dropped it, when in fact, it was placed precariously on the edge of a shelf and my shirt sleeve knocked it down when I reached for a non breakable item above it. She wasn't exactly nice about it but didn't force me to pay for the broken item. I would never return if she had. It's a great store and I enjoy...
Read moreBuyers beware!!!! Just because a store has been around for a long time does not mean they are still reputable Bought a fishing rod for my 16 year old son. Never got to use it as it was defective! It was in my van! Never touched other than nicely lying it in my van. Nothing was ever lyed on top of it. Pulled it out to use it and it snaps. They refused to honor the warranty because it was not broken fishing. So sad for a business to treat a customer this way. You will reap what you sow...
