I have been here for about 3 months now and can confidently say it was the best decision I made when looking to move back into DTLB!
Starting off with my experience touring the unit I had in mind. I spoke with Eldon who helped us the entire time. From the beginning he was very easy to communicate with, never felt pressured while touring, and he very detailed on the current promotions with how they would work if we decided to apply. I am the kind of person to ask many questions with even more popping up down the process and not once did I feel Eldon minded at all. He was always happy to help.
Now for living here for 3 months and the Apartment community itself is great. It is always secured, never had issues with my packages, and there's always events happening that are thrown by the leasing team here which is a nice bonus. I've had a couple minor maintenance requests but they were handled next day by Julio who is great at his job.
It's hard to find a good apartment building to live in when having a management team as it can go 50/50 but since I've had nothing but great experiences here with the staff, I felt it was right to give the proper recognition they deserve since there's many places to choose in Long Beach. While the whole team has been great to interact with, Eldon and Dwyane (leasing team), Daniela (Concierge), Julio (maintenance), and Robert (after hours security) definitely deserve the shoutout!
4/14/2025 Editing my review as I am moving out. I highly recommend moving here! I have been a resident here almost going on 2 years. We are in the move out process because of a job relocation out of state but if it wasnât for that, we would not be leaving. Ellie the community manager, Rose the assistant manager, and all of the shoreline team have been wonderful to work with. Whenever we had questions or concerns they would always get back to us and never seemed bothered when we would check in for anything. Even though we are moving out, Ellie and Rose have been kind and supportive throughout the process. During my time living here, the staff at the front desk (mix of leasing team and security / concierge) have have always been great about holding our packages when Amazon dropped them off there, handling our delivery orders from delivery apps to our floor, and helping when we had friends stop by but couldnât get down to them in the moment. Overall the convenience was the most appealing thing about living here (aside from the apt itself). This is my hometown so if I end up coming back after from living out of state, I will 100% return to Shoreline Gateway.

I lived in this building for close to 2 years, renting a 2 bedroom apartments with my family. The staff is very friendly and the building it kept clean. It is nice that there is coffee shop outside, very convenient. The sushi restaurant outside is one of the best I have been to (try their Aburi Miso Salmon). Got a nice gym and heated pool, with pool towels (if you get there early enough). The common spaces are really great.
Most of the apartments have great views, we were on the 4th floor, but had a nice view of the ocean from the master bedroom. The apartments are very spacious and well laid out. During move in we had an issue where the day we moved in we saw water damage in the second bathroom and adjoining room, which they should have caught before our move in. We had to stay in temporary accommodation for around 10 days, which was annoying, but since then we didn't have any issues during our stay. Must point out that the management did change about one year back, and the new management is much better.
Our checkout process was a bit bumpy, hence the 4 stars. Prior to the pre-moveout inspection, I was told that the building charges for deep cleaning, full painting, replacing carpet etc. While the cleaning part was normal, I was a bit shocked by the other two. When I asked about these during the pre-moveout inspection, they clarified that carpet replacement is only if the carpets smelled musky due to pets. However, the painting was standard. We did have some damage on the paint due to kids pasting stuff, so we can't argue about the painting, but they charge this irrespective of any issues from everyone. They charged $380 (pro-rated based on our stay from a total cost of $685) for painting. They charged $129 for carpet cleaning, which I complained about and they removed. The deep clean was $340. Overall, the charges ate up all of my $1250 deposit. I wish the management clearly explained these costs when I moved-in, and was less vague in their explanations prior to the move-out inspection.    Read moreWhen I tell you I am in complete disbelief I have yet to receive my holding deposit of 500 dollars. Even my bank thinks this company scammed me. It has now been over a month and this company has given me the run around on my deposit misinformation from EVERYONE. Jasmine has been absolutely no help and the fact I have emailed her 3 times now and she hasnât responded not even once and Iâve also called on multiple occasions to Shoreline gateway and nobody has picked up. I most definitely will be seeking legal actions at this point. They are quick to be accommodating to those who get approved yet those who donât they give you the runaround. They sent my check to an old address in Texas w/out asking me for a good address. They lied and told me I would received my deposit the same way I paid for it which I paid for it on my card so Iâm thinking thatâs how I would receive back. Then when I found out they sent a check to an old address I told them to stop the check and a young lady told me thatâs impossible that now I have to wait 60 days. Then another lady (Jasmine) told me they can stop the check she said she would send me and email to give an updated address waited hours even had to call her back to send me her email so I can give an updated address. She was smart with me and said she was busyâŚand now Iâve been waiting and Iâve heard nothing back. To many of you 500 is probably nothing but to me Iâve worked extremely hard for my money.
