I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at SuperMax, and I have to give them just one star. As a regular customer at this location, I often enjoy the convenience and usually good food, but this time, the customer service was utterly unacceptable.
After placing my first order through UberEats using a gift card, I encountered significant confusion over my request for "lite beans." I assumed it meant a smaller portion of the regular refried beans, but instead, I received pinto beansācompletely different from what I expected. On top of that, the rice was served in a smaller portion as well, which only added to my frustration.
I acknowledge that this was my mistake, but itās not clear that asking for "lite beans" would result in receiving entirely different beans. This lack of clarity in their menu led to a frustrating experience, and I expected better communication from the restaurant.
When I called to explain the situation, hoping for some understanding, I was met with a dismissive attitude. The staff member simply said, "Well, sorry, thatās your fault." This kind of indifference is unacceptable. Instead of taking accountability or offering a resolution, they deflected blame. When I asked if I could get the correct beans, I was told I would have to pay for them because it was āmy fault.ā
To make matters worse, the to-go person tried to share their own personal story as if that would somehow make the situation better. Honestly, when I am trying to resolve my issues as a customer, I donāt want to hear about someone else's problems. It's incredibly frustrating and completely misses the point of good customer service.
Overall, the lack of accountability and poor customer service ruined my experience. For anyone using the app, be aware that choosing "lite beans" may result in receiving pinto beans instead of what you expect, and donāt be surprised if the customer service leaves much to be desired. SuperMax really needs to step up their game in terms of communication and how they handle customer concerns.
Even their own website doesnāt make it clear what lite beans mean.
The photo with the cheese is normal beans and rice.
The other photo is lite beans and...
Read moreI like to consider myself a super nice guy when it comes to reviews about any establishment or restaurant visited. I've been to Super Mex twice before and OMG! FOOD WAS YUMMEE! With covid-19 in play dining was closed. Why I say this, im not a fan of to go food. box, plastic utensils....but that has no bearing on this visits score. Ordered nachos with steak and ground beef. No jalapeños. The cook got everything right except a few things missing. No sour cream!!! Nooooo!!! There was alot of guacamole!! Lucky me I had some in the fridge. Steak - the taste of it lacked flavor, and the texture seemed like it was steamed much longer than usual. I love medium rare, but this was like rubbery. Less on the steam and maybe grilled it for a nice charred outside and melt like butter inside. The ground beef. You ever eat oatmeal?? Ok. Now this was super super ground beef that looked like oatmeal blackened. There was NO flavor and I think the meat was blended!!! Thats just an observation and opinion. I paid 2.00 more for meat that wasn't meat or didn't taste like ground beef and look like it but also no flavor at all. It was just, wow. Chips great. Cheese yum yum. Beans good. This long review will not deter me from returning. But I just know to ask for sour cream hahah, and do not order the beef products. It's not worth the trouble or wallet. Ill try the chicken and carnitas next time. P.S. I worked in the food industry for quite some time and managed. I know what walk thru's are, checking sauces and Temps, making sure recipes are to spec. I can complain and say overcharge and I can make 3 platters for what I paid for at home. But if anyone is at super mex reading this, all I ask is check your product. Flavor and texture. Love your...
