Columbia Square Parking Lot — Local services in Los Angeles

Good parking, but confusing pricing. Avoid paying in the app for a one-time visit. If you do, don’t be late!!! It’s better to get a ticket at the entrance, the price will be $15 from 7 pm to 2 am. I paid $22 in the app for 7:30 pm to 12 am, which seemed like the maximum total because the price was the same until 11 pm and 12 am. However, we were 7 minutes late, and I didn’t extend my stay because I thought I had paid the maximum anyway. The system charged us an additional $15 for overstay! The guy who came to talk didn’t help more than advised us to get a ticket next time to pay $15 total, as I had mentioned earlier. Lessons learned, but it was an unfair and frustrating...

This underground parking garage is convenient because there’s 24/7 access, 5 levels of parking underground, and easy to drive to. Most other lots around here don’t offer 24/7 access and/or they aren’t covered, which were the top 2 requirements for me. It’s also a safe place to park because there’s 24/7 security and it’s in a high-end area. It is well lit and very clean. I pay for monthly parking through the app, SpotHero, where I signed up. This app lists all lots co near you and lets you sign up conveniently online. Parking is allowed anywhere without a Reserved sign. You use a QR code emailed to you and just place it in front of the scanner at the gate...

The grace period is 10 minutes, and we were leaving the parking lot a minute before the grace period ended which put us at 11 minutes after finding out the restaurant was fully committed. We explained it to him, he looked at our ticket and told us we still needed to pay the full rate. While we were paying, we saw him letting out a person who spoke to him in Spanish that was in the exact situation as us. We confronted him and he said that he can do whatever he wants. When I pulled out my camera to record him say that, he denied and said that he didn’t let anyone out....
