I recently had the most amazing experience at Den Mother Spa in Los Angeles, and I can't stop raving about it. This spa truly offers a tranquil and beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I visited Den Mother Spa with my friends as part of our girls' weekend in LA, and it exceeded all our expectations. We decided to try the Reflexology massages in the garden area, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The garden setting added to the serenity of the experience, with lush greenery and a soothing ambiance that instantly put us at ease. My therapist, Devin, was an absolute gem. She provided one of the best massages I've ever had. Her expertise and attention to detail were truly impressive, and she made sure I felt completely relaxed throughout the entire session. One of the unique features of Den Mother Spa is that they offer little cocktails to enjoy during your massage, which added a delightful touch to our already fantastic experience. Sipping on a refreshing drink while receiving a top-notch massage was pure bliss. Whether you're looking for a solo escape or a memorable experience with friends, this spa delivers on all fronts. The tranquil atmosphere, skilled therapists like Devin, and the option to enjoy cocktails make it the best hideaway for relaxation and rejuvenation in Los Angeles.

Came back for the second time, drawn back by our good first experience with the sauna and cold plunge. Unfortunately, this visit was a major letdown. Upon arrival, the room wasn't ready, and when I asked if we could wait inside by the bar area, we were told it was too crowded and had to wait outside. However, once we were finally allowed in, the lounge area was less than half full. Inside the cold plunge room, the floor's paint was peeling, and there were spots of mold on the wood. They had replaced the spacious white cold plunge tub with a small black one where you couldn't fully extend your legs. The once high-quality Salt & Stone hair and body products had been swapped out for their own homemade versions in random bottles. Despite these changes, the price had increased by $10, with no shampoo provided. When I asked for a hair dryer, I was shocked to learn they didn't have one. Overall, the experience felt subpar and not worth the higher price. It seems their focus might be more on massage services now, but I won't be returning for their sauna and cold plunge offerings. For cheaper, I can get better experience elsewhere.

This is an intimate spa experience. Quaint but relaxing in the garden area. The positives are the massage ladies gave an amazing massage and were very nice(Azaria &Laura). Very sweet ladies.. The guy that help with food order was prompt and nice.Which is why I gave Four stars. Improvement could be the communication at front desk with a couple things. Example .. I pre filled (forms) out of what I was allergic to but when I arrived and started my appt. Apparently it was not on my notes and I almost put my feet into a tub of lavender. Yikes.. glad I mentioned it before she started. But , no apology for the confusion from the front desk. Overall cute place in Venice.

The good: the ambiance is tranquil and the store selection is well curated. I think they do a great job with the “locker that travels with you” concept with personal items in baskets since they don’t have lockers. Very creative and it works.

The great: our two massage therapists were fabulous. My massage therapist Courtney was a skillful practitioner who, had my front of house experience been different, I would absolutely love to see her again.

The bad: our front of house experience wasn’t great. First of all, we did the ritual foot soak. I am very allergic to coconut, so I asked for an alternative. I was met with such weird energy and was told “your bath with just be tea then.” I ended up PURCHASING a bath fizz for myself to put in the water so I at least something was happening. I think however it is wild that there’s no consideration or alternative for allergies, no desire to make it better, and honestly I felt like I was inconveniencing THEM by having an allergy. I don’t think the world revolves around me because of my allergy, but I have never been met with such hostility and lack of accommodation before. Beyond that, the payment policy is at best suspicious and at worse bad practice and possibly illegal. When I went to pay cash, they said they are cashless. Ok, you’re cashless. I went to provide the tip in cash. They won’t accept gratuity in cash, they’re cashless. Then, when reviewing my bill, I realized they charge a 3% processing fee. So I can’t pay legal tender for the service rendered at the price advertised but I also must pay a processing fee in order to pay for my service? I know it’s Venice but that is ridiculous. Also, the gratuity policy really gives me the ick. I managed high end spas for many years, and I have never seen that policy. I don’t know the why behind this so don’t want to assume. I just hope, HOPE, that their practitioners at the very least get 100% of THEIR gratuity. My service itself was great, the customer service was not great, and the payment policies are baffling. I don’t think I can morally bring myself to...

I originally had a pretty disappointing experience at Den Mother and left feeling disheartened—especially since I had bought a birthday gift card for my friend so we could enjoy a spa day together. From unclear front desk communication to only having a semi-working bathroom, and a rushed, lackluster massage, the visit left a lot to be desired. My friend also ran into an issue with redeeming the gift card I had purchased, which created more stress than relaxation, and I left that day certain I wouldn't return.

To Den Mother's credit, the manager Trish reached out to me personally after seeing my review. She was thoughtful, apologetic, and offered my friend and me a chance to come back for a complimentary treatment of our choice. We took her up on that offer—and I’m so glad we did.

This time, our experience was night and day. The staff was prompt, organized, and kind. We were offered robes and slippers upon arrival and invited to relax on the beautiful back terrace before our appointment. The bathroom was clean and functioning (a big improvement), and our therapists were exceptional—caring, attentive, and deeply skilled. The Garden Massage with Ritual Foot Bath left me feeling grounded, nurtured, and physically restored. I appreciated that my therapist asked what kind of pressure I liked and wasn’t afraid to really work through my knots. The herbal foot soak smelled amazing, and I felt fully welcomed and cared for throughout.

I’m genuinely grateful that Trish took the time to make things right. My return visit completely shifted my view of the business. Thank you, Den Mother, for listening and taking the steps to improve. I now feel confident recommending this spot—and I look forward to...
