FARM Rio — Local services in Los Angeles

A recent visit to Farm Rio's Venice Beach location left me questioning their commitment to customer service and experience.

A system error resulted in a confirmed credit card payment not reflecting on their end, preventing me from taking my purchase despite spending over an hour trying clothes on (it was my last day in LA and I live abroad).

While technical difficulties happen, the lack of a solution was unacceptable. Staff took my information but offered no follow-up until I proactively contacted them several times. To make matters worse, their demeanour was dismissive, rude and they offered no apology for the inconvenience.

Farm Rio prides itself on high-quality products, but this experience fell far short of that standard. A brand of this caliber deserves a point-of-sale system that functions smoothly and staff trained to handle unexpected situations professionally and proactively. House Rio had some of the most unique and stunning dresses but it was my experience with Alex, a kind honest sales person, that prompted me to write this review. Before I walked into the store I had been in every boutique in the area with sales people who were willing to falsely flatter for a sale. Not Alex. I found beautiful dresses but had yet to find a dress that fit my curves which is typically my struggle with shopping. Alex came to the rescue pulling a dress from the back that will remain one of my favorite pieces. It flattered me and Alex was so authentic and helpful. He didn’t shy away from the fact that I was larger bodied but instead found something I would feel beautiful in. If I could hire him as my personal shopper I would. I’m extremely disappointed with the quality of the ski suits I purchased from Farm Rio. Both mine and my partner's suits ripped along the seams before we even got on the ski lift. A professional seamstress confirmed the poor seam construction, making repairs futile as the issue would likely recur. For suits retailing at $670, this level of quality is unacceptable.

While the design and colors are stunning (we’ve received many compliments), the durability and lack of accountability from Farm Rio have been frustrating. Initially, they offered to resolve the issue, but later reversed their decision, leaving us with defective suits and a mere $30 gift card as compensation—which I did not accept out of principle and the huge cost discrepancy.
