Joybird — Local services in Los Angeles

Literally the day after I moved to Los Angeles, I went shopping for a sleeper sofa. After a quick search online, I planned to go to West Elm and Joybird... but I never made it to West Elm.

Store Experience: As soon as I walked into this Joybird, Athenas was so welcoming, personable and sweet. I mentioned I was interested in the Aime sleeper. Since she didn't have the sleeper version in the showroom, she showed me the traditional Aime and another sleeper couch. I got to try out the sleeper mattress and I loved it! She was also honest that the sleeper Aime would be a little less cushiony as sleepers are generally less so. Appreciated that honesty! Then she patiently helped me use the swatches in the showroom to figure out the best material/color to match my existing furniture. She also pulled up customer photos so I could get a sense of different swatches on the couch in different light. The showroom is staged so nicely, I also ended up purchasing the Vira Console Cabinet on the spot. The check out was fast/easy and for Labor Day they had even more discounts/promotions if you bought in-store.

Timeline: I bought everything in early September and it did take until early November to get everything -- but Athenas was transparent about the timeline from the start and kept me informed when my furniture had shipped. It was also worth the wait for me because I eventually got everything customized exactly as I wanted vs. choosing something I loved less based on availability. The furniture arrived within the timeframe I was told when I bought it and it's exactly what I hoped it would be

My partner and I have been shopping endlessly for a couch for our new house and Joybird hit the spot!

We had seen lots of advertisements for Joybird on Insta and after doing some research found that there was a new showroom in LA. We went in and immediately hit it off with Riyah, one of the design consultants there. She knew we were concerned about picking the right size and fabric for our space and she let us know they offer FREE design services. We scheduled an appointment and she and another JB rep came to our house and measured our living and dining spaces and brought large pieces of our favorite fabrics to view in our space. We met again a week later and she several design options for us! She included the couch in several options of fabric and different chairs, rugs, and even included some of our specific pieces from our place we said we wanted to include in the space! We ultimately went for a monochromatic look with desert tones and bought the Lewis sectional in Crave Irish Crème which as you can see fits beautifully in our space!

Best yet is I am a very accident prone individual and for an extra $300 you can add on a protection plan that will cover stains and any damages. We got the couch at a huge discount from their July 4th sale and they even have guys come in to install with white glove service. The whole thing maybe took 5-6 weeks for our couch to get built and it is so perfect! They even offer payment plans so you don’t have to pay it all up front!!! So in love with Joybird, their amazing attention to detail and full service staff! Huge thank you to Riyah for taking such excellent care of us and listening to our needs every step...

Design services were outstanding. I live outside of LA so I was able to have multiple virtual appointments with my interior design specialist, Riyah. She was so warm and inviting from the beginning when I met her in the showroom several months ago and mentioned my project. When I was ready to start working on it, I reached out because I found through the website that Joybird offered custom design. I would recommend ordered a swatch kit a week or two before you make your first design appointment so you can have a swatch kit with you. Mine came the night before so I was ready! Our first call was excellent and I couldn't believe how easily Riyah picked up on the floor plan through a camera. She scaled the rooms I needed designed perfectly. I added some requested measurements when she sent me PDFs of the spaces and then we met again after I submitted them and she had created mood boards and renderings of each space: a living room with sitting area, dining room and office. Riyah saw my vision so well! Her ideas were great and we connected on similar taste. She helped me find outside vendors for a gallery wall and pendant light for the dining area. Each meeting was so productive and fun! After two, we had nailed down some ideas and she sent the renderings for me to consider while away on vacation. When I returned, we connected, placed the orders through her and am not currently awaiting my new spaces!! I can't wait! So happy to have worked with such an excellent young professional who is obviously quite skilled in her work. I see big things for Riyah and I'm grateful for the help...
