Footloose in Mammoth is an absolute gem for all things ski-related, especially when it comes to finding the perfect ski boots and gear. My recent visit there with my niece and nephew was nothing short of fantastic. The staff fitted both children with ski boots that they absolutely loved. It's noteworthy how the sales associates manage to be incredibly helpful without resorting to pushy sales tactics, a rare quality that greatly enhances the shopping experience.
The expertise of the majority of the staff at Footloose is impressive. They possess a deep knowledge of their products and are adept at catering to the specific needs of each customer, whether they're seasoned skiers or newcomers to the sport. This level of expertise was particularly evident when I needed help with custom-made skis and bindings.
I had two sets of bindings mounted on custom-made skis and also had another set of skis in for a tune-up. The service I received from the repair department was outstanding. Not only was the work done quickly, but it was also done with a level of courtesy that made me feel valued as a customer. Additionally, their pricing was more than fair, adding to the overall positive experience.
Footloose stands out not just for its products, but for the overall customer experience. It's the kind of place that makes you feel confident in your purchases and satisfied with the service provided. As a result, it has become our first stop for everything we need for the snow. Whether you're gearing up for a day on the slopes or need expert advice on ski equipment, Footloose in Mammoth is the place to go. Their exceptional service, fair pricing, and knowledgeable staff make them a standout in the ski...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery unimpressed by my experience buying skis and boots here. I'm in no way an expert, but I've skied consistently every season just don't know the ins and outs of buying gear (usually rented).
Bought at the end of Ski season. Boots $400, Skis $400. Salesperson was very confident that the boots would fit, also somehow convinced me to buy an extra ~$100 in socks and soles. Didn't do the demo (BIG MISTAKE) given that he was so confident. Went to the mountain the same day, was unable to even make it 1/5th of the way down the run without excruciating pain. Somehow made it down, went straight back to the store. There was a different guy working there. He lectured me on why I should have demo'd. Told me that sees a lot of people coming back and complaining of pain with this particular boot (this was not mentioned to me when I bought them outright..). Fiddled a little with the boot, maybe a little improved but had to leave town so couldn't test them. Told me to come back and get them widened. Recently back in town for summer. Took the boots to get them widened. Told them what had happened. Woman looked me up, "found me" in the system. Told me that I in fact had not purchased anything from them (obviously did like 2 months prior). Told me I would have to pay outright for any adjustments. So... I paid $120 to get them widened. Show up the next day to pick them up. Handed the boots to me, no offer to try them on in the store.
TLDR: Poor experience buying ski boots. Staff didn't care and were more than happy to charge me more money. Its a shame because I've had a good experience otherwise...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'd always heard how great this place was at fitting ski boots, and when it came time for me to replace my boots I decided to give them a shot. I never got properly fitted for my first pair of boots and while they worked ok, I knew if I wanted more comfort and performance, getting professionally-fitted boots was a must. I'd caught them at the end of the season so the selection was very limited. Like, they had ONE pair of boots in stock that fit me, lol. But if the shoe fits... Turned out to be a pretty damn near perfect fit, actually, but since my feet get a little wide where my toes are, the guy said they could make some additional custom modifications to widen certain parts of the boot. That entailed me just wearing the boot liners and them marking the pressure point areas, and then they worked their magic in the back modifying the boot to create more room at said problem spots. When I tried on the final product, wow, what a difference! The guy helping me was really great, and it seemed like all the guys who work there were very knowledgeable. I got a nice discount on my boots too, since it was end of season, so it didn't break the bank too much. Another nice thing about getting boots here is that they have your info on file, so if you need any other adjustments or have problems with the boots you can take them in and they will help you for free. I was really hoping to use the new boots this season but the opportunity didn't present itself so I will have to wait. I've never looked so forward to...
