A Pizza Place — Restaurant in Mammoth Lakes

We had been excited to visit after seeing a 4.7 rating, so we visited on Thursday. Closed: only open Fri and Sat. Be aware. On Friday, we ordered a pizza and sat down next to a group of three gentlemen, who began to chat with us. We had an opportunity to get to know them well, because we waited 60 minutes for our pizza. The guys waited an hour and a quarter. The staff never mentioned that our order would be delayed. I was still willing to consider that maybe unforeseen circumstances had caused delays, But when the pizza arrived it was, frankly, mediocre. I would have guessed the cheese was vegan if I hadn't known it wasn't, because it didn't have the color or consistency of quality mozzarella. I had a Domino's pizza in town that tasted better; no exaggeration. The owner is a nice man trying to build a business at what used to be Z Pizza, but from my perspective there are several better choices for...

It is absolutely phenomenal! If you are looking for the BEST pizza in Mammoth Lakes, look no further. A Pizza Place offers the most amazing pizza, and the family owned restaurant is an absolute delight. The father and son establishment offers unsurpassed customer service, genuine kindness from genuine people, and a fantastic menu. The welcoming atmosphere is a wonderful place to enjoy a mouth-watering slice. We ordered a variety of items from the menu, and everything was absolutely delicious from the cheesy garlic bread to the pizza pies (pepperoni and supreme). Our pepperoni pizza was prepared and baked to perfection, and I can honestly say I have not had a pizza this good in a long time!

If you are looking for the BEST pizza in town and want that old school charm with phenomenal customer service, A Pizza Place is THE place to go! I cannot recommend it enough....

Friday night in the hotel room, just got to Mammoth, starving after a six hour drive. Debating which restaurant we should try, when A Pizza Place pops up on the map. Even better than what we had been planning, pizza and Netflix in the room?? Ordered a two topping 14” pie and it was ready in 30 mins. Just enough time for a quick stop at the Grocery Outlet for some snacks and drinks. The guy at the counter gave us plates, pepper and parmesan packets and even hooked it up with a hot honey cup.
