UPDATE (4-11-16): I forgot to update this, as I came across my note from January that I wanted to give a KUDOS to 2 employees. I still remember, as they were NINA & CHRIS (2 young employees that were very helpful). It was almost closing time on Sunday (1/17/16), as it was 4:36 pm when I left. I drove across town solely to get some of my favorite fudge (habanero dark chocolate fudge & jalapeno fudge). I wanted to pick up some for my friend, too, who wasn't with me. So I called her & told her what they had.
My reason for the KUDOS is their patience with me. I know they were wanting to get ready to close, and I was indecisive on what all I wanted. I also didn't want to sample every single piece fudge they had -though they would've let me, if I'd wanted. BTW ...fudge was the primary reason for coming here. :-D
I finally (after a few samples & phone call[s] to my friend) picked out a variety of fudges & even a few extra "candies" that I originally didn't come in for. They never once made me feel "rushed" or tried to hurry me. So with that ...THANKS TO NINA & CHRIS (not sure if you're still there or not), but thank you!
I'm moving out of state in a few months & will be 2 days drive away. So, I may have to make one more visit prior to moving just to have my favorite fudge again! ;-) My niece is moving here this summer, so that may be a good excuse to bring her to Manitou (though she's not really into chocolate or candy). She's more the "health-nut", but there's enough shops in Manitou that will appease her. So I can slip off to grab my favs here. Blessings to the owners & staff! O:-)
PREVIOUS KUDOS FROM 2014 (I THINK):
Great customer service, but even better ...habanero dark chocolate fudge & jalapeno fudge ...both are DELICIOUS! I can't wait to go back for more. I'm usually not a big peanut brittle person, but their jalapeno peanut brittle is really good too! I had another fudge/candy shop in Manitou that I liked (still like), but I think this one has the better...
Read moreI was with my family on a tour of Pikes peak and the tour guide told us that fudge was AMAZING so of course I wanted to check it out. When my family and I walked in the lady behind the counter said she would be with us in a minute (she was doing something with jewelry behind the counter) so we started to look around. After a few minutes I decided I would like some chocolate covered peanuts. So I stood at the counter and waited. The lady turned around, took off her glasses and threw then on the counter and then she said "what do you want" in a very frustrated tone that made me feel very unwanted like taking my order was a bother to her so I just said nothing and walked out. My family also decided not to buy anything and it was a topic on the tour. I came here to read the comments and they are very good reviews so I hope that my experience was due...
Read moreLived here for 6 years and just so happened to find this place while parking. What an absolute treasure 🤤 The peanut butter fudge. The jelly beans. The roasted almonds. My 3 children left feeling happy and so did our pockets. Reasonably priced for great quality food. The folks that own this place are a delight as well. They talk about anything and make you feel like part of their family. You can feel the excitement before you walk into this place just by the smell. Your nose just wants to follow...
