I live in Manitou and work from home, so I stop by The Loft on my lunch hour probably (definitely) multiple times a week at this point. I realized I had never left a review!
I’ve always wanted a “community” coffee shop near me that wasn’t Starbucks, and I’m so happy that The Loft is here. The staff is always incredibly friendly, the food is absolutely excellent (my personal recommendation is the Farmhouse on sea salt bagel), and the drinks are also so good. They do frequent specials that go along with the season, and there’s basically guaranteed to be one you’d like. My personal favorite right now is the “Doc Holliday” latte, which is a latte with huckleberry!
I think I’ve conditioned myself to make the walk down to The Loft anytime there’s heavy snow, because their food & drinks are just so warm and uplifting!
Not to mention the donut/pastries they also make. They make some absolutely incredible cinnamon rolls from time to time. Donut-wise, my personal favorites are the apple cider and raspberry ginger (I think that’s what it’s called, I got it yesterday and thought it was SO good). But, like their drinks, it’s always revolving along with the seasons, so no matter what your taste may be, you’re sure to find something you’ll love.
Even when they’re absolutely slammed, they still get to you quickly and I promise it’s always worth the wait. If I drive by somewhere like Starbucks and see that there’s a line, I know that it won’t even be worth sitting in it. But here, it’s absolutely worth the wait!
Hands-down the best place in Manitou to get some coffee or...
Read moreNot specialty coffee by any means but decent. Most drinks on the menu are heavy on the sugar and syrups to cover the coffee taste. Don't expect great quality traditional espresso drinks. When I ordered a cappuccino, I was immediately asked what size, twice. When I said traditional, the cashier had no idea what a traditional cappuccino is. She seemed offended when I informed her that it is typically 6-8oz in size. Luckily, the barista was able to produce it properly, but the front end needs more coffee education.
Bagels are hard and very chewy, not my style of bagels but I understand that some people enjoy that. The food was okay, not something I would seek out in the future.
The pastries were almost gone when I ordered around 9am on a Saturday and I was not interested in the few types that remained. Although I didn't order any pastries, Instagram pics look great. Although id recommend somewhere else for coffee and food, maybe their pastries are worth stopping in for. The atmosphere is cozy.

Read moreThis restaurant has it all! Great owners, happy employees and an atmosphere that feels like home, everyone that comes through the door is greeted and welcomed in, some of us are older and our world has gotten smaller, the interaction with the folks at the Loft may be the only people we talk to all day, but I digress.. The food is exceptional, innovative and fresh! I always try to get an assortment of goodies and share them. Today I did not share, the S’more was so far over the top EXCELLENT, that I ate it all, alone..sorry not sorry, I also got the blueberry crumble bar and the sweet little blueberry cookies, everything thing was delicious. This coffee bar/Restaurant is basically what we would call a mom & pop place back in the day, it’s all hands on deck, everyone is doing their best to give the public a little respite from this busy world..you can feel the love and taste it!, they also have Gf, vegan, nondairy milks, non caffeinated beverages for the kiddos. Also their sandwiches are unique and delicious especially on their “scratch...
