To the consumers: I can't rate them on their ice cream, but I did have their hot chocolate. Oh my gosh... worst hot chocolate ever. And very expensive for a powdered hot chocolate that you can buy at the local grocery store. It was very, very disappointing and it felt like was at an amusement park where you would expect ridiculous prices for bad quality.
The lady behind the counter was friendly enough. Nothing to write home about.
To the owners: If you change your hot choc recipe, I would be glad to delete this review just let me know. And I hope you do change what they use... or don't use chalkolate (aka. powder). If you use actual chocolate, you will have a much better recipe. Good luck.
Background story: The story goes, that it was the day before new years. It is VERY cold. We had just finished visiting Garden of the God and were really looking for something warm us up and taste good. We did it the old fashion way and drove through town and found a store that said chocolate. We popped in and we were glad to see "Hot Chocolate" on their menu. I thought it was a bit pricey, but then I thought, "Hey this is a chocolate place, they have to have good hot chocolate." Our group was unanimous in saying that it had to have been the worst hot chocolate we have ever had. Worst first impression for a chocolate...
Read moreUpdate Sept. 2023: Was in town again for my yearly visit and stopping for some iceccream is a must at Pikes Peak. Got my usual the Coconut Chocolate Chunk Almond Ice cream, little brother did the Dutch Chocolate with a scoop of Salted Carmel. Both were great St least he said that lol. Of course, you walk right by the candy and Rocky Roadis hard to find so we had to get some along with their cashew clusters too. Can't ever go wrong here between all their goodies and reasonably priced ice cream to boot.
Had a taste for Ice Cream & wanted to experience Pikes Peak Ice Cream as it was rated fabulous 👌 We had the Coconut Chocolate Chip with Almonds in a Chocolate hand dipped Wafer cone. By golly gee it was so refreshing coconut flavor was not overbearing, chocolate chunks we yummy and almonds we great in the so so good chocolate handipped wafer cone. Best homemade ice cream I tasted since my grandparents made it by hand. Had to keep my eyes from looking at all the scrumptious chocolate candy which us one of my downfalls. Next time I will have to grab some flavored truffles for sure. Skippy even loved the Ice Cream, remember Manitou Springs & Colorado are dog friendly...
Read moreAfter eating dinner at a disappointment of a place down the road, I promised my family some ice cream to make up for the expensive, sparce, so called meal. It was late on a Sunday night, before10:00, and we saw this place was still open. Parked the car, went in and WOW what a surprise, very friendly, nice and accommodating staff. I was interested in this particular purple colored ice cream, so I was TOTALLY blown away when he said that it was Tarro and chunks of chocolate pieces in it...when vacationing in Hawaii several years back, I had Tarro and absolutely feel in love with it, it is very difficult to find in this side of the country, WELL BAM, here it was in this small very quaint ice cream shop, he not only made my day, but this was a perfect way to end the vacation, I was a VERY happy customer, and will ABSOLUTELY go back here whenever I get the chance..i highly recommend this DIAMOND in the...
