Rockey Art Museum — Attraction in Manitou Springs

Guys, this place is a treasure. I dare say one of the most important artistic facilities in the entire state of Colorado. As others have mentioned, it isn’t quite a museum or gallery, but rather a glimpse into Rockey’s life, his work, and his legacy. Lana was the wonderfully kind lady who guided my partner and I through this special experience. She is brimming with excitement and enthusiasm for the art. It is rare to meet people as passionate as she. She really wants to engage and connect with everyone who visits and takes the time to make things really personal and detailed. This was such a magical place and one of my best travel experiences to date. I am still moved by the breathtaking art and heart that permeated from this beautiful shop. I didn’t get the privilege to meet the beloved Rockey but you could feel his presence and unique artistry imprinted throughout his home. I can say with confidence that he would be SO proud of the amazing Lana who puts her heart and soul into sharing the magic and carrying on his legacy through stories, inspirational quotes and the magic mirror. I have lived on the west side for years and never stopped into this place but, today, I rectified that mistake. I regret waiting so long. The museum was amazing. Michael was enthralling! The stories and anecdotes he shared about C.H.Rocky (who was obviously a good friend and inspiration) left me feeling warm and fuzzy.
