I had a great experience shopping at this Dicks for a kayak. The staff were very friendly. The manager kindly checked in the back for a purple XL obrien life vest for me as well since I saw online that they had them in stock and I was so happy that he came back with one! I got a beautiful purple and black kayak. 2 friendly staff members carried it outside for us. While we were loading it, I had noticed it had a pretty significant dent in the side of it. I didn't check it over like I should have prior to purchasing but it wasn't possible to dent it like that in the 5 minutes we had it in the parking lot. That was definitely a manufactoring defect. My boyfriend tried popping it out but it wouldn't ome out. I spoke to an employee and the manager and they took that one back and brought me a different one from the back that was in better shape. We looked it over good that time and there was such a small dent in the backrest that I didn't mind and wouldn't affect it functionally. I really appreciated them exchanging the kayak so close to closing time. They were friendly and professional the whole time. It's kayak week they said so they have a lot in stock. The price was good too. The kayak was $100 off and the life vest were buy one get one free. No sales on the oars though so I'm going to one from walmart for half the price. Very happy with my new kayak and I'm looking forward to getting it out in the water...
Read moreThis was my first time shopping at Dick’s Sporting Goods, and while parts of the experience were great, the billing process was very disappointing. I had a valid 15% off entire purchase coupon, but the cashier — who appeared to be a teenage employee — refused to apply it. He kept denying it without properly checking and spoke in a rude, dismissive manner. Another cashier standing beside him was also rude, which made the interaction even more unpleasant.
The in-store associates on the floor, however, were excellent. They patiently showed me the shoes I wanted, brought out multiple sizes, and checked in several times to see if I needed anything else. Their attentiveness and willingness to help really stood out, even though they were not involved in the billing process.
The manager, without me even needing to explain the situation in detail, quickly reviewed the coupon, confirmed it was valid, and applied it within seconds. His professionalism and efficiency were greatly appreciated and a sharp contrast to the earlier experience.

Read moreThe service at this store has always been bottom tier. I guess when you hire high school athletes only customer service is not a priority. This particular location always seems to have the same attitude with POC. I’m never asked if I need any help, every time I have to ask someone to help me. And it’s like pulling teeth. It’s all sections all the time. I have observed myself and other people of color be BLATANTLY ignored by store staff but stalked to observe for stealing or other LP concerns. This store seems to always have POC employed (16-19 YO’s) never of management only cashiers/CSR type roles. No one ever is happy to help we are interrupting their hangout time. I had someone ring me out today and our entire interaction he was so involved in talking to his buddy at work he didn’t even remember after being told 3X-I’d like to process an exchange for an online order. There are multiple stores in my area however this the closest to me. This is the sole reason I even come to this location. Seems as if everyone here is at work to hangout/chit chat. And helping customers is a bother....
